IPSWICH HEAD COACH MAKE A MOVE FOR THE SIGNING OF NEW BURNLEY WINGER
Birmingham City are joining Leeds United, Southampton, and Ipswich Town in the race for the signature of Burnley winger Manuel Benson, according to Give Me Sport.
After the loan signing of QPR’s Andre Dozzell last week, manager Tony Mowbray will want to add a few more players ahead of a crucial second half of the season for Blues.
With Blues currently sitting 20th in the league, and the other interested parties occupying the top 4 spots, it would take some convincing to get Manuel Benson to St Andrew’s.

Leeds United are seemingly the keenest side so far, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri reporting yesterday that a new round of talks between the sides had happened and more details to follow.
Although Leeds’ acquisition of Benson might not be guaranteed with the new interest from Blues and Ispwich, according to Give Me Sport.
The 26-year-old Belgium winger had previously been a player of Genk and then Royal Antwerp until Burnley signed him in August 2022. Despite only starting 14 of his 33 matches in Burnley’s Championship-winning season, the winger scored 11 goals and registered 3 assists, with 6 of those goals being from outside the penalty area.
Benson loves to be direct on the right wing and cut in on his left foot for a shot at goal, which is similar to Birmingham’s own Siriki Dembele who cuts in on his right foot from the left.
Although it may be unlikely for Blues to acquire Benson, it’s no secret he would be a fine addition to an exciting and direct Tony Mowbray side. Maybe the new ownership and excitement around the club could be a deciding factor for potential new signings to come to St Andrew’s.
