BRAKING NEWS: Key player Stephen Curry, decide not to trean and…

What was Steph Curry’s first thought upon not being selected to start for the Western Conference in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game? lavishing gratitude on the two up-and-coming talents who placed ahead of him.

Following the Warriors’ 134-133 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday at Chase Center, Curry was questioned about his exclusion from the All-Star starting lineup. He immediately cited the excellent performances of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic this season.

Luka [Doncic] and Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] are two players that are playing incredible this year, Curry said to reporters. “Been around doing this for a very long time, and the fact that it’s a talking point, I’m not after nine healthy years … those two guys are playing amazing; they deserve it.”

Curry aspires to win a spot in the All-Star Weekend festivities in a different manner, even if he will not be in the Western Conference starting lineup when the All-Star Game takes place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on February 18.

“Hopefully I’m there in Indiana in whatever capacity,” Curry stated. “But to still be doing it at this stage, it’s always a challenge, you don’t ever take for granted how hard it is to be recognized in that way every year.”

In 38 appearances during the 2023–24 NBA season, Curry is averaging 26.7 points, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 40.1 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Curry scored at least 30 points in 16 games this season, including the Warriors’ loss to the Kings on Thursday, where he recorded a team-high 33 points. Curry is a two-time NBA MVP.

It is the first time since the 2012–13 season that Curry, a superstar when healthy, is not included in the starting lineup for the Western Conference.

Curry is expected to be mentioned when the NBA reveals the reserves for the midseason showcase on February 1st, given the results of the the-Star fan voting, which ranked him second among the Western Conference players.
