Triste nouvelle: Centre Bundee Aki a annoncé qu’il quittait aujourd’hui.

After 80 minutes of fierce play from both sides, Prendergast’s second goal at the end of the game gave the Irish province the victory. The teams had traded scores throughout the contest.

Connacht Rugby had to learn their lesson the hard way, falling behind their hosts, who were deserving of the advantage, 20–12 at the half.

It was only fitting that center Bundee Aki, who was also celebrating his birthday, was named player of the match for his efforts in leading his side to victory.

With fifteen minutes remaining, Prendergast’s try gave Connacht Rugby the lead, which was sealed in the last seconds by his second try.

Shayne Bolton, Caolin Blade, and Dave Heffernan were also listed on the Irish province’s scoresheet.

There were nine tries in all at the Stade du Hameau, three for Section Paloise and six for the visitors. However, for the majority of the game, the TOP14 club appeared destined for a quarter-final position thanks to two penalties, three conversions, and a drop goal from fly-half Joe Simmonds.

Ziggy Fisi’ihoi’s second-half score and Sacha Zegueur’s brace in the first half propelled them to three tries, but it was insufficient.

Next weekend, Connacht Rugby will now travel to play Benetton Rugby in the EPCR Challenge Cup quarterfinals.
