Joe Espada just announced his departure.

The head coach of  Houston Astros, Joe Espada declared his retirement.

Texas’s Houston Joe Espada, a baseball lifer, acknowledges that his visit to the ballpark on Thursday was unlike any other he has taken.

Before the Astros’ season opening against the Yankees, first-year manager Joe Espada told reporters, “My first one as a manager, it means more.” Emotionally taxing, but I’m prepared. I have spent a great deal of time anticipating this day.”

The fact that Espada’s family, which is unusual, attended the game at Minute Maid Park added to the specialness of Opening Day 2024.
