BOSTON — On Thursday night at TD Garden, the defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-4 by dominating the first and third periods of play.
Vegas grabbed control of the game in the second period, scoring three goals and outshooting the Bruins 15–7. Boston started the game well, scoring three goals in the opening two and a half minutes.
Following the game, Boston’s play displayed a recurring breakdown that Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery highlighted.

Charlie Coyle stated that although Vegas had a strong start in the second frame, the Bruins’ subpar play allowed the Knights to tie the game.
