SAD NEWS: ASTON VILLA COACH Unai Emery Etxegoien HAS BEING SUSPENDED DUE TO…
This season, Aston Villa has excelled under Unai Emery, who has made the team a formidable opponent.
The club’s growth and success are mostly down to the Spaniard’s influence, but he has also brought in a ton of quality since joining.
However, many players find it difficult to get off to a great start when they join a new club because of the intense pressure to succeed right away in the Premier League.
There was one Villa player, though, who was meant to succeed Jack Grealish but never quite lived up to their early success at Villa Park.
Philippe Coutinho’s initial thoughts
The legendary Grealish of Villa left the team in the summer of 2021 to sign a £100 million contract with Manchester City. Initially, they were unable to find a replacement for the captain.
The Villans suffered in the Premier League after losing their star attacker. They lost five straight games from October to the beginning of November and lost their inaugural game 3-2 to Watford, who had just been promoted.
But in January, Philippe Coutinho—who was signed by the team on a season-long loan from Barcelona—arrived as their savior.
The Brazilian quickly returned to form his signature in the Premier League, scoring in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on his professional debut.
With an incredible display against Leeds United in just his second appearance, Coutinho lit up Villa Park, scoring one goal and dishing out two assists in a 3-3 tie.
