Following Thursday’s 128–110 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Draymond Green, the star of the Golden State Warriors, couldn’t stop raving about his team’s youthful potential.

The Warriors easily defeated the LeBron James-less Lakers at home, and Green was sure to recognize the “young guys” who have been contributing to the team’s success this year.

“I believe we’re headed in the right direction,” Green stated in a post-match interview. “You always hope the young guys make progress, and those young men—Brandon [Podziemski], Moses [Moody], Jonathan Kuminga, and Trayce Jackson-Davis—have unlocked this squad, as we can see. I believe there are countless options, our club has limitless potential, and we’re on the rise.

With 32 points and eight assists, Warriors star Stephen Curry led the way, but Golden State’s youthfulness was evident all over the court.R ookie Jackson-Davis scored 17 points on 8 of 10 shots, Kuminga scored 12 points, his 34th straight game with 10 or more points, and Podziemski pulled down nine boards, leading the team.

The Warriors continued their midseason hot streak on Thursday, winning nine of their previous 11 games, and scored over 125 points in four straight games for the first time since 1989.

Green acknowledges that the Warriors’ recent success can be attributed to their youthful core, but his return from suspension has also helped the club in many ways. To become the third player in Warriors history to record at least 800 career blocks, the four-time All-Star needs just two more blocks.

The Warriors (28–26) are within half a game of the Lakers for the No. 9 slot in the Western Conference and have a 3.5-game advantage over the Utah Jazz for the No. 10 spot.
