Bill's shocking decision! Matt Milano and two more players

Bill’s shocking decision! Matt Milano and two more players. Matt Milano, a key piece of the Buffalo Bills’ defense in recent years, agreed to restructure his contract on Tuesday. In return, the team voided the final year of his deal, making him a free agent after the season. Milano accepted a pay cut of $3.6 million, though he can recoup the amount through performance-based incentives. He will now earn a base salary of $6.3 million, with $5.63 million guaranteed, according to OvertheCap.com. Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz first reported the news.

The contract restructuring lowers Milano’s 2025 cap hit to $12.8 million and frees up $3.6 million in much-needed cap space for Buffalo. With the 2025 salary cap set at $279.2 million, this move gives the Bills additional flexibility. Milano, who will be 31 years old next season, is likely to explore free agency unless he secures an extension before then.

Drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Milano has been an excellent value pick for GM Brandon Beane. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2022 and has been a reliable contributor despite injury setbacks. Over the past two seasons, he has played in just nine regular-season games and three playoff games. The Bills are counting on Milano to stay healthy and contribute for a full 2025 season. Josh Allen holds Aaron Rodgers in high regard, valuing their friendship and mentorship.

Speaking at Rodgers’ annual RX3 charity flag football tournament in Southern California on March 15, Allen, 28, praised the veteran quarterback for his influence on his career.

“I wouldn’t say he took me under his wing, but after meeting him through RX3, he’s been a great mentor and role model,” Allen shared. “I grew up watching and idolizing him, so being friends with him now is surreal—something I truly appreciate.”

Before the event kicked off, Allen and Rodgers were seen chatting and sharing laughs during their offseason catch-up. Allen also shed light on Rodgers’ personality.

“He’s a quirky guy,” Allen said with a chuckle. “You’ve got to find ways to poke at him just a little, and I think he respects that, so I make sure to give him a hard time.”

Allen’s Future in Buffalo, Rodgers’ Uncertain Path

Earlier this month, Allen signed a contract extension with the Buffalo Bills, securing him through 2030 for $330 million. In a livestream with 7 News WKBW, he expressed gratitude for the deal and excitement for the future in Buffalo.

Rodgers, however, is facing an uncertain future after being released by the New York Jets in February. In a statement, the team announced they were moving in “another direction” at quarterback, thanking Rodgers for his leadership and dedication.

On March 11, Rodgers was spotted on a beachside walk in Malibu, wrapped in a blanket and wearing headphones, as speculation continues about his next move in the NFL.
