The Buffalo Bills will once again try to make the move to bring them over the hump after suffering yet another postseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, this year’s being in the AFC Championship game.

The Bills will probably try to target the receiving room this offseason. Although rookie Keon Coleman displayed promise and Khalil Shakir made significant progress in the slot this season, Shakir’s sustainability as a top target is in doubt because veterans Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper are entering free agency.

Given that the New York Jets, their divisional foe, may be looking to relocate a top target, the Bills may need to go within the state for assistance.

Although Davante Adams has two years left on his deal, it is generally assumed that the Jets would cut him before free agency starts in order to save the $35.64 million he owes. Adams’ interest in rejoining the team is doubtful given the announcement of the team’s separation with Aaron Rodgers.

Last year, there were rumors that the Bills were interested in the Adams trade sweepstakes, but Adams was ultimately sent downstate to the Jets.

The Bills unavoidably turned to the trade that brought them Cooper, indicating that they had great expectations that Adams would be a vital component of a possible Super Bowl run.

Colin Cowherd, a FOX Sports analyst, discussed a possible Adams and Bills combination in October. He portrayed Josh Allen and the six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro as a match made in heaven.

“How could you even consider then other teams if the Bills reached out to you?” Cowherd queried Adams about his show in a rhetorical manner.

With the exception of a 997-yard effort in 12 games in 2019, Adams has hit the 1,000-yard mark six times in his last seven seasons. Adams caught his 100th touchdown this past season and has led the NFL in receiving touchdowns for two of the previous five seasons.

Shakir and Coleman may work well together, and Adams’ presence would relieve Shakir of a lot of strain. The secondary would probably be concentrating on Adams, who has 11,000 yards.
