Brad Crawford of 247Sports revealed on Saturday morning that Pete Lembo, the special teams coordinator at South Carolina, had recently had an interview for Buffalo’s head coaching position. Lembo seems to have made a lasting impression on the Bulls’ athletic department staff, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel’s story on Sunday morning. Nobody should be overly surprised by the decision, since Lembo has openly expressed his desire for another head coaching chance while at Columbia. Being at Ball, he has prior experience in Buffalo’s league, the MAC, plus he will be nearer to his personal family.
