The Milwaukee Bucks have completed another deal, but this one isn’t particularly noteworthy. It looks like one of their own guys is the big acquisition this time. In addition to financial concerns, the Bucks have traded Patrick Baldwin Jr. to the San Antonio Spurs. Baldwin was recently acquired as part of the trade that sent Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards in return for Kyle Kuzma.

The Milwaukee Bucks made a move.

Although Shams Charania of ESPN did not go into detail about what Milwaukee is specifically adding in the deal, fan speculation seems to provide an answer. The Bucks can now add one of their own, point guard Ryan Rollins, as the move frees up a roster spot.

This season, Rollins has been playing for Milwaukee on a two-way contract, which means he can only play in a certain amount of games before he has to sign a regular NBA contract. This season, Rollins has participated in 33 games and been a valuable player. He has averaged 1.2 assists, 1.5 rebounds, and 5 points per game this season. Doc Rivers, the head coach, would naturally want to keep him on the team as a rotation option.

In 2022, the Atlanta Hawks picked Rollins 44th overall in the second round of the draft out of Toledo. Prior to joining Milwaukee, he had stints with the Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors.

The Bucks have other possibilities to consider. Since Rollins hasn’t officially been assigned to the open roster spot, they might use it for a different purpose. Still, the most likely scenario is that Rollins stays with the team.

Following the Kyle Kuzma transaction, the Bucks trade with the Spurs.

On Wednesday evening, Khris Middleton was traded to the Washington Wizards by the Milwaukee Bucks. Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Kyle Kuzma were acquired by the Bucks. Milwaukee dealt Baldwin Jr. to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, just hours before the trade deadline, to get back to business.

In a post, Shams Charania stated, “Sources tell ESPN that Milwaukee is trading Patrick Baldwin Jr. and cash to San Antonio.”

Since 2022, Patrick Baldwin Jr. has played in the NBA. Prior to spending the last two seasons with the Wizards, he began his career with the Golden State Warriors. His tenure with the Bucks was brief.

Baldwin Jr. played for Milwaukee during his undergraduate career before being selected by the Warriors with the 28th overall choice in the 2022 NBA Draft. Baldwin Jr. was expected to return to his hometown after Wednesday’s trade, but he will now play in San Antonio, which is further south.

Baldwin Jr. hasn’t seen much playing time thus far in his career because he hasn’t yet averaged more than 13 minutes per game in a season. This season, he is scoring 2.1 points per game and averaging 4.6 MPG.

The Bucks made a few transactions just before Thursday’s deadline, demonstrating their activity over the past 24 hours. Teams now have a couple of hours to make any last-minute moves. The biggest news has probably already been released because we have already seen some significant ones throughout the sport. But in the last few hours, anything can happen.

With their new roster, it will be interesting to watch what the Bucks can achieve in the final stretch. Milwaukee is in fifth position in the Eastern Conference with a 27-22 record so far this season.
