Charles Barkley Morant is harsh. Ja Morant is set on showing fans why he is possibly the most electric player in the NBA today. Unfortunately, however, that unofficial accolade might be the only one he earns during the regular season. Due to foot pain, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard was unable to play in Friday’s loping victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Since it was his 18th game without playing, he is not eligible to be selected to the 2024–25 All-NBA team.

Concerns regarding Morant’s durability are becoming more prevalent, in addition to the evident disappointment of the injury problems and their immediate effects. As he paints poster after poster of his opponents, his incredible agility and athleticism captivate hordes of hoops fans. Is the 25-year-old’s aggressive and daring style of play sustainable? Not in Charles Barkley’s opinion.

According to the Hall of Fame forward, Morant needs to control himself a little to prevent constant deterioration. On “Inside the NBA,” Barkley stated prior to the Grizzlies’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, “My only concern with him is he’s a little too reckless for me.” “He’s going to get wounded if he keeps bumping into those large bodies like that. He should stop attempting to dunk on people.

Earlier in the season, Morant declared he was done dunking, suggesting he is aware of the dangers. However, reinventing oneself is not easy. The two-time All-Star and 2022 Second Team All-NBA pick only knows how to go full pace. He attacks the rim without hesitation and is prepared to crush anyone who stands in his way. He took flight over 7-foot-3 Victor Wembanyama without even a whistle.

However, Ja Morant spends a lot of time riding the pine in between the amazing plays and amazing exploits. Fans question how long No. 12 will be able to sustain his peak performance after he has had a long list of illnesses in his first six NBA seasons. Morant should make a business decision and be more cautious on the court, according to Barkley and others. Charles Barkley Morant harsh

But it’s asking a lot to expect this tremendous talent to occasionally control his instincts. In addition to making himself accessible for the Grizzlies, he will try his hardest to maintain his basketball identity.
