CB Julian Humphrey Enters Transfer Portal
Cornerback Julian Humphrey announced on Sunday that he will be entering the transfer portal. While transfers are commonplace in today’s college athletics landscape, the timing of Humphrey’s decision—just days before Georgia’s SEC Championship game—is unexpected.
Humphrey started in Georgia’s first 10 games this season before recently losing the starting role to Daniel Harris. Despite the change, he has been a key contributor for the Bulldogs and would likely still see significant playing time off the bench.
The primary reason for Humphrey’s early announcement is the opening of the transfer portal on Dec. 9. By declaring now, Humphrey ensures he can participate in the process immediately, avoiding the risk of being overlooked amidst the flood of players and recruiting activity expected to follow.

As Georgia football gears up for their final home game of the season against Georgia Tech, head coach Kirby Smart has one last chance to host recruits in Athens for a game-day visit. While several prospects are scheduled to attend, five-star running back Savion Hiter has decided to cancel his visit, dealing a minor setback to the Bulldogs’ recruiting efforts.
5-Star RB Savion Hiter
Savion Hiter, a standout in the 2026 class, is ranked as the No. 14 overall player nationally by 247Sports. He is also the top-rated running back in his class and the No. 1 prospect from Virginia.
Initially, Hiter planned to attend Georgia’s matchup against Georgia Tech, but DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell has reported that the visit will no longer happen.
While this development isn’t ideal, it’s not a major cause for concern. Hiter is not visiting another school instead of Georgia, and he was just in Athens last weekend for Georgia’s win over UMass. According to Hiter, he thoroughly enjoyed that visit.
Additionally, as a 2026 recruit, Hiter’s recruitment process still has plenty of time to unfold. Despite canceling this particular visit, Hiter has expressed strong interest in Georgia, and he will likely make more trips to Athens in the future.
Securing Hiter would be a significant boost to Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class, and Smart will undoubtedly continue to make a strong push for the elite running back.
