This week’s Sunday Night Football game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Buffalo Bills will feature the return of former Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd to Orchard Park.
In an interview on KNBR’s “Murph & Markus” show on November 25, Floyd remarked, “I definitely marked this game on my calendar because playing in Buffalo is a unique experience.” He acknowledged that Highmark Stadium will be “a hostile environment for us,” emphasizing the passion of Buffalo’s “incredible fans.”
Addressing the challenging atmosphere the 49ers will face in Buffalo, he said during his KNBR interview, “We’ll need to push through it, stick together, and hopefully come away with a win.”
Regarding Josh Allen, Leonard Floyd remarked, “Hopefully I Can Bring Him Down.”
Floyd spoke candidly about the difficult assignment he and his defensive teammates have ahead of them on Sunday night when they take on Josh Allen and the Bills attack.
Floyd informed the KNBR hosts, “Sheesh, I won’t lie, it’s going to be a tough week.” “This one requires the proper mindset. Being on the same team as him, you must be at a high level and be on par with him because he is a highly competitive quarterback. This matchup is going to be fantastic.
“You know me, I’m going out, I’m giving it my all, and hopefully I bring him down,” Floyd continued.
In his career, Allen has defeated Floyd twice. When Floyd was with the Rams, he did not earn a sack in their 2022 game. However, when he and the Rams met the Bills QB in 2020, Floyd managed to sack Allen once. Buffalo and Allen prevailed in both of those games.
Floyd responded, “It sounds like Buffalo weather,” in response to a question concerning the possibility of snow and frigid temperatures on Sunday night. Buffalo weather is known for its snowfall, which lasted for three days before ceasing. That’s definitely how things work in Buffalo.
The tackle that prematurely ended Aaron Rodgers’ first season with the New York Jets was one of Floyd’s 10.5 sacks for the Bills in 2023.
After the 2022 season, Floyd was waived by the Rams and joined with Buffalo. Floyd finished his one season with the Bills with 10.5 sacks and 32 tackles. When he sacked Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the fourth play of his debut season in New York, it was one of his most memorable moments throughout his tenure with Buffalo. Rodgers missed the remainder of the season after tearing his achilles on the play.
Throughout his career, Floyd has amassed 402 tackles, 64.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 5 forced fumbles.
