(AP) MIAMI GARDENS, FL When the Miami Dolphins go to play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, they are probably going to be missing four of their starting lineup.
Cornerback Kader Kohou (neck), tight end Julian Hill (shoulder), and defensive tackle Zach Sieler (eye) were all sidelined Friday afternoon.
Coach Mike McDaniel stated that Tyreek Hill will continue to play despite having a foot injury that has plagued him for the past few weeks.
Sieler, who was injured in practice last Thursday, and Kohou are set to miss their second game in a row. Last Sunday against Arizona, Julian Hill sustained a shoulder injury in the first quarter. None of them practiced this week.
When Sieler returns, McDaniel said he’ll wear a visor. Da’Shawn Hand is expected to start in Sieler’s place for the second straight week on Sunday.
“You need to be able to see, and if you can help it, you don’t want to put your eyes at risk,” McDaniel said on Friday. “I think he’d probably still play if it were just about performance, but the focus is on preventing further injury.”
In Week 9, Bills fans should be concerned about three Dolphins players.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will play their second game of the season against the Miami Dolphins. The Bills may find this game difficult as Miami also returns to full health because they are playing the Dolphins, a 2-5 team with nothing left to lose. Should Bills supporters be worried about this game? It should be closer than past meetings, but probably not. Many people were astonished to learn that the Dolphins had already suffered six losses when they were predicted to contend with the Bills for the division. There are a lot of Dolphins players to worry about when the roster is as well-constructed as this one. But let’s look at three in particular in this post.
Devon Achane, running back
The only bright spot in this Dolphins offense has been the quick second-year running back. The Dolphins have relied on him to stay healthy and perform well during a turbulent season marred by injuries. In addition to his 244 yards and two touchdowns through the air this season, he has 357 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Achane has been a dependable checkdown for everyone, even when Miami has several quarterbacks starting.
Achane concluded Week 2 against Buffalo with 22 rushes for 96 yards and seven receptions for an additional 69 yards. On Sunday, Miami might rely on Achane to lead the offense once more.
Kendall Fuller, a cornerback
The Dolphins defense no longer has much to get enthusiastic about. It’s difficult to pinpoint any positive aspects of that team after losing Christian Wilkins to injury and Christian Wilkins to free agency. According to PlayerProfiler, Fuller, on the other side, has performed remarkably well this season, giving up nine receptions, 119 yards, and zero touchdowns on 18 targets. Since their last meeting, the Bills’ passing attack has appeared to be considerably more effective. Production has increased for rookie Keon Coleman and second-year tight end Dalton Kincaid since the team traded for Amari Cooper. This secondary, which Buffalo has traditionally been able to dissect, has only had Fuller and safety Jevon Holland as contributors.
Waddle, Jaylen, wide receiver
Waddle, who has 3,699 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career since joining the league in 2021, has been a key component of this Dolphins’ passing attack. He is currently experiencing a “down year,” but he is not to blame. Despite playing together just three times this season, Waddle and Tyreek Hill have both flourished under Tua Tagovailoa as their quarterback. With 195 yards on 13 receptions in their three games together, Waddle has put up some respectable stats.
Every time these two teams play, the Bills are able to keep Tyreek Hill to relatively low numbers, so Waddle will be looked at a lot throughout this game. Buffalo’s passing attack will suffer a serious setback if they can restrict Waddle.
