Two important players were absent from the Miami Heat’s annual “Red, White, and Pink Game.”
Injury kept Heat players Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. out of the intrasquad scrimmage. Jaquez missed the game due to a left groin strain, while Herro was sidelined due to a right groin strain. Josh Richardson, the wings, did not play either since he is currently healing from surgery on his shoulder.
Erik Spoelstra, the coach of the Heat, correctly predicted that the announcement of Herro and Jaquez would cause supporters to overreact. Concerns of the former Sixth Man of the Year’s minor injury becoming a serious were proliferating in the post’s comment sections. With a swift response, Spoelstra said, “I need everyone to take a big breath, but I’m calculating all the headlines right now.”
It’s obvious that neither injury is something to worry about, especially with two weeks left before the regular season begins. On October 23, the Heat take on the Orlando Magic to kick off the season.
This season, both should see significant growth as Herro tries to stay healthy and improve his shooting consistency. Alternatively, Jaquez is enthusiastic for a greater role without Caleb Martin in the rotation, highlighting a desire to improve his outside shot and defensive skills.

It’s hardly surprising that everyone in the sports world was curious about Bronny James during the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason opener.
Dwyane Wade, the former player for the Miami Heat, was among those who were really pleased to watch the first father-son team in NBA history play. Wade used three fire emojis to comment on an ESPN compilation of photos and videos showing LeBron and Bronny together on the court.
Both Wade and James were first-round selections in the 2003 NBA Draft, and they grew close as rivals and teammates for the rest of their lives. Wade is now witnessing one of his best friends fulfill his ambition by playing with his son.
Although he did not have the most effective opener, the former Trojan from USC came very close to breaking Wade’s record. James got three blocks in Friday’s 124-107 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the Lakers. Wade, who had four in his preseason debut, was the only player with more blocks.
Though it’s far too soon to say that both are headed in the same direction, James’ early success gave the Lakers hope.
“He can do some things defensively at his size that are really unique, and I think can turn into a really disruptive defender,” J.J. Redick, the coach of the Lakers, stated “That became apparent. In terms of his attacking game, he is still developing. As a player development program, it is our responsibility to integrate him.
