Due in large part to a long list of injuries to important players, the Cleveland Browns offense has been mired in neutral for the entire season. As a result, after four games, this group has failed to score more than eighteen points once.

Fortunately for Browns supporters, one of their most potent weapons has been playing well and might be prepared to deliver some positive news to the supporters on Sunday.

Tight end David Njoku, who is classified as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders, is likely to play, but he may be limited in his first outing following a high-ankle sprain sustained in Week 1. This information was provided by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., who is still recovering from a knee injury sustained in the middle of the previous season, is classified as questionable, but Schefter noted that he is probably going to play.

Njoku recently had a great year in 2023, setting career highs with 81 receptions for 882 yards and six touchdowns. Upon taking over at quarterback, he and Joe Flacco clicked instantly.

Insider Reveals David Njoku's Status For Commanders Game

Deshaun Watson needs to emerge and become more dependable in order for the veteran quarterback to break out of the slump he has been in since moving to Cleveland, so the Browns are hoping he and Watson can get cooking in a similar way.

Regaining Njoku and Wills would be a major step in the right way for the Browns as they look to turn this 1-3 start around.

On Sunday, the Washington Commanders (3-1) host the Cleveland Browns (1-3) in the second of three straight away games. The team gave its last press conference on Friday ahead of its Week 5 match before leaving. One of the players to speak to the media in the team’s locker room was David Njoku, a tight end with the Browns. He did, however, draw attention from fans for reasons other than his interview responses. Regarding the attire that Njoku wore while being shot by reporters and local TV cameras, a lot of people posted remarks on social media.

In just its first day on X, a now-viral video was seen over five million times. On X, a fan wrote, “Man put some CLOTHES ON.” “On that hgh in some booty shorts,” said a another person. Another person questioned, “Why is my man wearing a pelvic corset?” “Why is he wearing it when he goes to an interview? Super odd. Someone said, “Put on some damn pants.” “Was this interview why the NFLPA made their statement,” wondered an audience member.

The NFL Players Association is trying to get changes made to the league’s media policy, thus the timing of the interview is very important. In an official statement released on Friday, the NFLPA urged its players to band together and relocate their interview locations in order to preserve the privacy and dignity of NFL locker rooms. It said, in part, “The NFL’s current media policy is outdated.” “As the NFLPA Executive Committee, we implore the NFL to act now in order to create a more civil and secure work environment for all players. We advise every player to request interviews during the week outside of the locker room.

Njoku, meanwhile, is “expected to play” but with limitations on Sunday, according Adam Schefter of ESPN. Due to a severe ankle sprain, the 28-year-old Pro Bowler hasn’t participated in games since Week 1. With 81 receptions on 123 targets, 882 yards, and six touchdowns in 2023, Njoku set career highs.
