Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Ravens, takes his teammates’ defense seriously. Jackson gives it to a supporter. Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Ravens, is honest both on and off the field. Following a critical analysis of tight end Mark Andrews’ unimpressive season debut, the two-time MVP wasn’t holding back in his defense of the seasoned pass catcher.

Like Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Andrews has had a rough start to the 2024 NFL season. Andrews has just six catches on nine targets for 65 receiving yards and no touchdowns going into Week 5.

Year Three TE Andrews’s snap count has gradually decreased because to Isaiah Likely, particularly this season. probably has 13 receptions for 167 receiving yards and a touchdown on 18 targets.

But because running back Derrick Henry has been playing more and more in the offense over the last two weeks, Likely has only managed three receptions for thirty receiving yards. The run-first strategy may have an impact on both tight ends now that the Ravens offense has established an identity.

Regarding Andrews, he is still regarded as the league’s top tight end. Andrews set records for most receptions in a single season (107) and receiving yards in a single season (1,361) in 2021. Andrews broke through as the tight end with the most touchdown receptions (10) in a season in 2019. He has remained Jackson’s go-to guy and playmaker ever since taking over as the Ravens’ offensive coordinator.

Jackson observed a fan on social media earlier today suggesting that the Ravens should let go of Andrews. Jackson was not going to accept that.

Regarding Mark Andrews, Lamar Jackson will not tolerate any defamatory remarks.

Jackson shot back, “STFU” at the foolishness.

Not just Jackson is standing up for Andrews. In the Ravens’ 35-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, head coach John Harbaugh made sure to praise Andrews.

During today’s press conference, Harbaugh stated, “Mark Andrews is going to definitely have big games here catching the ball.” “Isaiah [Likely] will probably have big games since all those guys are excellent catchers. We’re going to be playing a significant passing game here shortly.”

Andrews had an impact on the game as a blocker, according to Harbaugh. The Ravens rushed for a total of 271 yards that night.

In Week 5, Kelce managed to have a successful comeback. Kelce recorded his highest receiving yardage total of the season with seven grabs for 89 yards in the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Like Jackson, quarterback Patrick Mahomes stood by his seasoned tight end and promised to deliver the ball to him. Jackson and Harbaugh have talked highly of Andrews, and it seems likely that he will soon have his breakthrough performance as well.

Fans occasionally desire more football.

Correct? False.

X, formerly known as Twitter, claims that football fans would like more games to be planned around their schedules.

The ProFootballTalk poll posed the question, “Do you like two games being played on Monday night?” Over 32,800 ballots were cast, with 66.7% voting “no.”

The NFL played two “Monday Night Football” games this week with varying kickoff times. The Buffalo Bills hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Washington Commanders. At 7:30 p.m. ET on the first game, and at 8:15 p.m. ET on the second, action got underway. ESPN aired one game, while ABC aired the other.

There is a benefit, at least, what if one of the games is terrible? It was clear from the start that the game wasn’t worth watching when the Bills crushed the Jaguars 47-10.

Josh Allen, the quarterback, demonstrated in that game why he is receiving notice for an MVP-caliber start.

According to ESPN Stats, through three games in his seven-year NFL career, Allen has the best passing touchdown percentage (9.7%), yards per dropback (8.2), completion rate (75%), first down percentage (43%), and total QBR (92.6). This season, he has also failed to throw an interception. The Bills have a 3-0 record.

At 133.7, Allen has the highest passer rating in the NFL right now.

Watching the Commanders vs. Bengals game was much more enjoyable since Jayden Daniels, a rookie quarterback from Washington, made history and helped his club advance to 2-1. In his first three games as the starter, Daniels has completed 80.3% of his throws for 662 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions as Washington defeated them 38–33.

Soon enough, spectators will be able to enjoy another doubleheader. The Miami Dolphins play the Tennessee Titans at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, followed 45 minutes later by the Detroit Lions playing the Seattle Seahawks.

The Week 3 doubleheader “averaged more than 19 million viewers” over the course of the two and a half hours between 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET, states ESPN. During its prime time, Commanders-Bengals averaged 15.2 million viewers.

Strong audience attendance and continuous watching across all ESPN channels are attracted by Monday Night Football’s overlap. tweet.com/bpgpAEi4rn

The Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles MNF clash in Week 2 drew an average audience of around 15 million viewers, ranking it as the third most watched ESPN and ESPN2 telecast in the network’s previous 50+ games since 2019.

There will also be “Monday Night football doubleheaders” in Weeks 7 (October 21) and 15 9 (December 16).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on October 21. The Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals game will start off at 9 p.m. ET.

On December 16, the Las Vegas Raiders host the Atlanta Falcons at 8:30 p.m. ET, while the Chicago Bears take on the Minnesota Vikings at 8 p.m. ET.

Now, why are there so many doubleheaders?

The New York Times reports that the NFL signed an 11-year media rights pact in March 2021, which gave Disney access to additional material by expanding the number of games on ESPN and ABC from 17 to 23. It also included Amazon Prime Video and other former broadcast partners.

Fans, whether you like it or not, doubleheaders are here to stay.
