Elias Lindholm did not show up for the Bruins’ second training camp day, but it does not appear to be a permanent problem.

Jim Montgomery, the head coach, said reporters on Friday that Boston was being “extra cautious” with the center and that the day was for maintenance for the standout free-agent signing. David Pastrnak offered an alternative justification.

Pastrnak described his first practice session with Lindholm to media, saying, “It was good,” according to the Bruins. Maybe he wasn’t acclimated to the speed in Czech. He required the day off (Friday) for this reason. It was enjoyable. We looked pretty at times. I don’t believe Lindy and I will have any trouble getting along. He is quite intelligent and has a high hockey IQ. Although it was only one practice, as I previously stated, I don’t believe there will be any issues locating chemistry.”

Working on the same line as a prolific scorer like Pastrnak might help Lindholm rediscover his 2021–22 form, even though he didn’t produce much the previous season. Lindholm should provide Boston a “killer instinct” on the power play.

Reliable Source Says Swayman Trade Talks from Bruins Are Disagreeable

In his latest episode of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman addressed untrue rumors that Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins had reached an eight-year pact. While he claimed he didn’t want to send anyone off the field because someone misreported a story, he believes the Bruins are still unwilling to pay Swayman what he is demanding. Friedman even mentioned the possibility that the Bruins would deal Swayman.

Friedman stated:

“Someone asked me if I thought the Bruins would change course and trade Swayman or just give up and go. Although he’s attempting to maintain a low profile and has expressed that he’s not always happy with all of the reporting here, I haven’t spoken with Don Sweeney, but my opinion is that the Bruins do not want to move Swayman.

He continued by saying that the Bruins do not want to move both goaltenders because they have already traded Linus Ullmark, and he genuinely thinks they are being honest when they say they want to sign Swayman. “I think that’s their objective, and they don’t want to or are considering trading him.”

Swayman Conversation Programs How Bad Have Negotiations Been?

Friedman’s need to address trade rumors on the show indicates that the conversations over contract negotiations are not going well. That is not good news for the Bruins, as this grows more concerning the longer it goes on.

Friedman speculated that Sweeney might have mentioned the deadline of December 1st, but he didn’t think the GM was implying it would take that long. “I believe that Sweeney was preparing to bring up December 1st, just to make sure that we wouldn’t be able to use any other deadlines or dates as leverage against us.”
