After the injury report was made public on Wednesday and it was revealed that left tackle Ronnie Stanley, safety Kyle Hamilton, outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, and cornerback Nate Wiggins were all out with injuries, Ravens supporters’ concerns escalated from fear to despair. But, as of Thursday, all of them returned, so that fear can be lessened.

As a beginning point, everything about the injury report looks positive. Stanley will play, head coach John Harbaugh stated on Wednesday. Given that he participated in the game against the Raiders ten days following his orbital bone fracture in Week 1, Van Noy is anticipated to play. Along with Wiggins, Hamilton is also on the rise.

Not all is as it seems, as outside linebacker David Ojabo had a quad injury on Thursday that prevented him from playing. Kick returner Deonte Harty has been sidelined for the past two days due to a leg injury, and Wiggins was sporting a red no-contact shirt.

After three weeks, the Ravens’ health is still doing well. The majority of starters are either fully recovered or on their way to becoming one, which is about as good as it gets considering the other NFL clubs.

Cowboys Say They’re “Hugely Focused” on the Losing Ravens

FRISCO – Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive mishap in Week 2 had the fans and media speculating about one side of the ball. The commotion has diverted attention from the Cowboys’ most reliable weakness over their opening two games: running the ball. Dallas’ enormous early disadvantage vs the New Orleans Saints limited their ability to produce anything constructive on the ground.

However, the initial results have not been particularly encouraging. In Week 1, the Cowboys’ running backs ran for seventy yards, and in Week 2, they gained fifty-seven yards. Dallas appears to be in risk of lagging behind the league as it continues to pivot toward a reliance on the running game.

Tyler Smith, a left guard, feels that the Cowboys’ offensive line has an obligation to relieve pressure on their backfield rather than panic.

“It’s a huge focus for us… that’s something I’ve been really intentional about going into this week… letting our guys run,” he stated. “We have extremely athletic guys with a wide range of amazing skills, and we have a great running back room.” We must motivate them to begin.”

The offensive line needs to perform better, but that might be exaggerating this team’s potential. Rico Dowdle has not distinguished himself from the group, and Ezekiell Elliott, while valuable in other contexts, lacks the explosiveness he brought to the league.

Dalvin Cook is always a possibility to replace him on the practice squad. This group as a whole hasn’t demonstrated that it can handle traffic and compete for small advantages.

The offensive line must provide these backs with opportunity in light of such deficiencies.

To do this, one must create running lanes, win the snap, and stay clear of penalties that force the offensive to revert to its earlier playbook. Smith needs to spearhead that effort because he is the most youthful and skilled member of this line.

How much more effective can this offensive phase be against Baltimore’s run defense? Maybe not that much different. However, any enhancement could give a little extra push to an offense that needs it after a sluggish start to the season.
