Breaking News: Cardinals to Part Ways With Two-Time Pro Bowler.
James Connor, a two-time Pro Bowl running back, is probably going to be traded at this year’s draft. Despite agreeing to a two-year contract deal last year, FOX Sports reports that they think the Arizona Cardinals may make Connor available for a trade. Because it was the Cardinals’ second 2024 season, some teams wanted to trade for the running back. Given that he hasn’t been able to play a full season in his career, it shouldn’t be shocking if teams contact to inquire about the running back’s availability during the draft.
The former Pro Bowl player earned a contract extension by regaining his position as the top rusher. Although the team did grant him another extension in spite of this, his job security is not guaranteed. Given his advanced age and the depth they have in the backfield thanks to players like Trey Benson, the Cardinals may decide to trade him.
Breaking: James Connor, a two-time Pro Bowler, might be traded at the NFL Draft. Najee Harris Benefits from Chargers and Ravens Logical Fits
Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins, the Los Angeles Chargers’ two highly promising running backs from the previous season, struggled to stay healthy despite Dobbins’ occasional outbursts. Najee Harris appears to have the physique and strength that head coach Jim Harbaugh is seeking as the Chargers try to evaluate how he fits into their strategy once more this coming fall. They will need to sign or draft another running back, but Harbaugh wants to create a good backfield space for quarterback Justin Herbert, who is hard-nosed and old-school in his approach to running over opponents.
The team may use another competent response behind Harris after Edwards, the backup, was released. In the hopes that Harris will fit into this system, the Chargers are retesting the waters. Because of this, Connor might be a good chain-mover to help Harris run it up in the red zone.
