Breaking: Spurs latest injury update raises serious roster issue concerns for the team moving forward

Spurs latest injury update raises serious roster issue concerns for the team moving forward. The Denver Nuggets return to their home court on Wednesday to take on the struggling San Antonio Spurs. This matchup comes on the second night of a back-to-back for Denver, following a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. That defeat marked the Nuggets’ fifth loss in their last 10 games, and they’ll be aiming to get back on track against a Spurs squad that has lost five straight and six of their last 10 contests.

Denver may be without two key contributors, as both Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday’s game. Murray is questionable with a lingering hamstring issue that has kept him sidelined for the last two games. If he remains out, Russell Westbrook and Jalen Pickett will likely see increased roles. Meanwhile, Porter Jr. is also questionable due to personal reasons that caused him to miss Tuesday’s loss. Should he be unavailable again, Peyton Watson is expected to step into the starting lineup. Additionally, the Nuggets have ruled out Julian Strawther and DaRon Holmes II for Wednesday’s matchup.

On the other side, the Spurs will also be short-handed, as five players are listed on their injury report. San Antonio has already ruled out Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox, both of whom will miss the remainder of the season. Jeremy Sochan, who sat out Tuesday’s game against the Orlando Magic due to a back injury, is listed as questionable, though interim head coach Mitch Johnson has indicated that Sochan is unlikely to play. Additionally, Charles Bassey is questionable with a knee injury that kept him out of the previous game.
