Georgia Bulldogs HC Kirby Smart Announced, To Be Without Another Key Player For At Least A Month.
The injuries Georgia football sustained during the 2024 season were among the most prominent stories. The Bulldogs’ season was significantly impacted by the injuries, most of which occurred on the offensive side of the ball, specifically in the running back room and on the offensive line.
Graham Coffey of Dawgs Central reported that two prominent players on Georgia’s defense recently underwent surgery, indicating that these ailments are regrettably continuing into the offseason.
Daylen Everette, CB
Corner Daylen Everette was the first Bulldog to have surgery recently. Soon after Georgia’s season ended, Everette underwent surgery for a sports hernia, according to Coffey.

The extent to which Everette will be able to participate in spring practice is currently unknown. He may be able to play in some limited ways, but he may also be unable to make it to spring practice. There is no concern that he will miss time during the regular season, though, as he is anticipated to be fully recovered well before the 2025 campaign begins.
DL Christen Miller
Lineman on defense On Friday, it was revealed that Chirsten Miller was the second player to have recently had surgery. Miller’s shoulder’s injured labrum has subsequently been surgically repaired.
Although Miller is likely to miss all of spring practice later in the offseason, he is anticipated to fully heal before the season, just like Everette. Given that both players will be important contributors, if not starters, on the Bulldogs’ defense this season, it is extremely significant that they will return well before the season starts. It would have been devastating to lose either player, but if they simply missed time in the spring, that is probably the best option.
Georgia Football Announces Rex Ryan’s Involvement in Coaches Clinic
The Georgia Bulldogs are deep into their offseason preparations, aiming to remain competitive for the 2025 college football season. While speculation swirled about potential coaching staff changes, no major adjustments have been made. Head coach Kirby Smart appears set to retain much of his 2024 staff.
However, the program is bringing in some high-profile coaching figures for an upcoming event. Georgia announced on Thursday that Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen and former NFL coach Rex Ryan will be keynote speakers at the 2025 UGA Coaches Clinic, scheduled for March 20-22 in Athens, Georgia.
This annual clinic serves as an opportunity for Georgia to connect with the coaching community while strengthening relationships with high school coaches—an essential aspect of recruiting in college football.
Ryan, currently an ESPN analyst, has been linked to multiple coaching opportunities in recent months. According to Georgia Athletics, the clinic will offer presentations from both college and NFL coaches, along with insights from Georgia’s entire coaching staff. Directors of Strength & Conditioning, Recruiting, Operations, Sports Medicine, and Player Development will also be available to engage with attendees and provide an inside look at the Bulldogs’ program.
