Oregon Ducks HC Dan Lanning Announced, Bulls To Be Without.

INDIANAPOLIS — Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson delivered an impressive showing at the NFL Scouting Combine, posting top marks in multiple physical tests.

Ferguson clocked a 4.63-second 40-yard dash, the fastest time among tight ends at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday. He also recorded a 39-inch vertical jump, leading his position group.

His 10-yard split of 1.55 seconds tied for the best among tight ends, while his 40-yard dash time ranked 16th among all tight ends at the combine since 2019.

Ferguson’s vertical jump was the highest among the 15 tight ends who participated and ranked fifth among all tight ends to perform the drill since 2019. His broad jump of 10 feet, 2 inches placed third among 14 participants.

According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Ferguson earned an athleticism score of 83, the second-highest among tight ends at the combine. His draft score of 78 placed him sixth in his position group.

He opted not to participate in the three-cone drill or the 20-yard shuttle.

Dillon Gabriel Projected as Mid-Round Pick in NFL Draft

Dillon Gabriel, who played for UCF, Oklahoma, and most recently Oregon, is preparing for the NFL Draft. While he spent time with multiple programs, his longest tenure was at UCF before transferring to Oklahoma and later Oregon.

Pro Football & Sports Network analyst Joe DeLeone projects Gabriel as a fifth-round selection in his latest NFL mock draft. DeLeone predicts the Miami Dolphins will take him with the 151st overall pick, positioning him as a potential backup to Tua Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa is under contract for four years at $212 million through 2028, meaning Gabriel wouldn’t have an immediate opportunity to start. However, given Tagovailoa’s injury history, Gabriel could provide valuable depth at the position.

During the 2024 season with the Ducks, Gabriel threw for 3,857 yards, 30 touchdowns, and six interceptions, completing a career-best 72.9% of his passes.

Back in December, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler identified Gabriel as a potential draft “riser.”

“I’ll bet Dillon Gabriel is going to be a ‘riser’ over the next five months of the draft process,” Brugler posted on X on Dec. 10, 2024. “And I’m not betting against him.”
