During the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory parade, two women were shot following an altercation near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM on Friday, when a man wearing an Eagles jersey opened fire after a verbal dispute, injuring a 27-year-old and a 20-year-old woman. Both victims were hospitalized and are in stable condition. Authorities are reviewing video footage to identify the shooter, and no arrests have been made yet.
In a separate incident during the celebrations, Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman sustained a head injury after being struck by a beer can thrown by a fan. Despite the injury, Roseman continued to participate in the festivities, expressing his dedication to the city.
These events highlight ongoing concerns about safety during large public celebrations, especially following a similar incident the previous year during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, where one person was killed and multiple others were injured.
