The battle between Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat organization now looks to be hurting teammates as well.
Channing Frye, a retired former NBA big man, revealed some concerning details regarding the event that resulted in Butler’s most recent ban by the Heat on the most recent episode of the well-liked podcast “Road Trippin’.” Butler allegedly delayed the team jet for hours when he failed to show up for an away game and remained radiosilent when questioned about his location, according to Frye.
According to sources, “Jimmy refused to communicate, so he held up the entire plane,” Frye recalled. The crew was reportedly waiting for him on the tarmac for a few hours. This made them ask, “Where is this guy?” And he finally said, “Oh, I’ll see you over there.”
During the episode, Frye made no mention of the source of the information. However, it’s definitely important to note that he is good friends with Kevin Love, a big player for the Heat and a former colleague of his on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Heat’s Jimmy Butler terminated
Butler missed the team trip to Milwaukee for Thursday’s game against the Bucks, according to sources at the time, which led to the Heat suspending him for an additional two games earlier this week. This followed Miami’s seven-game suspension of Butler for disruptive behavior.
As a free agent this offseason, the six-time All-Star Butler is eager to leave Miami and is obviously prepared to make things very unpleasant in order to do so. On Monday against Orlando, Butler can make his comeback from his most recent suspension. However, things are becoming more and more unworkable, and the Heat at least seem to be moving closer to a possible deal that would put an end to this whole ugly issue.
