Deuce Knight, a five-star quarterback from Mississippi high school, has decided to remain at Auburn.
During a signing day ceremony on Wednesday morning at George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi, Knight, a 6-foot-4, 206-pound left-hander, made the news. 247 Sports Composite ranks him as the fourth quarterback and 29th overall player in the 2025 signing class.
Before switching to Auburn in early October, Knight had been committed to Notre Dame for a number of months. During the 2024 season, he was seen at Ole Miss a lot in addition to attending a number of Tigers home games.
On Wednesday, it turned out that there wasn’t much drama. Wearing Auburn attire, Knight attended the signing day ceremony with his whole family. Then Knight yelled, “War Eagle,” and put an Auburn cap on his head.
In 2024, Knight ran for 450 yards and nine touchdowns and tossed for 2,082 yards and 24 touchdowns with five interceptions in nine games at George County. After suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out of four regular season games, he made a comeback in time to help the Rebels advance to the second round of the Mississippi Class 6A playoffs. Along with Thompson edge rusher Jared Smith and Opelika defensive lineman Malik Autry, Knight was/is one of three 5-star players in Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class. Going into Wednesday, the Tigers were ranked fourth in the SEC and fifth overall in the nation.
