Huge Trade!! The Colts have landed a $94 million Super Bowl-winning QB thanks to Indianapolis Colts HC Shane Steichen.

This offseason, Russell Wilson might be traded once more. Will the Indianapolis Colts be his next stop?

Wilson was without a doubt one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks four or five years ago. However, it is no longer the case. He is still a reliable veteran, though.

Wilson had an injury at the start of this season. He eventually guided the Pittsburgh Steelers to the postseason after taking Justin Fields’ place as the team’s starter. Regretfully, the Steelers were defeated by the Baltimore Ravens 28-14 in the Wild Card Round.

The starting quarterback for Pittsburgh in 2025 is unknown. In March, Wilson and Fields will both be free agents. The Steelers might be a terrific fit for fellow free agent Sam Darnold.

Wilson might have to find a new home if Darnold, Aaron Rodgers, or another player decides to move to Pittsburgh this offseason. And that place might be Indianapolis.

Considering Russell Wilson’s career, the Indianapolis Colts ought to think about signing him.

Russell Wilson was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was supposed to support newly signed free agent Matt Flynn as a rookie. But in the end, Wilson defeated Flynn to become the starting quarterback.

Wilson later rose to fame in Seattle. In his ten seasons with the team, he led the NFL in passing touchdowns (2017) and passer rating (2015), was selected to the All-Pro second team once, and made nine Pro Bowls. More significantly, he guided the Seahawks to two Super Bowls, one of which they won.

In the offseason of 2022, Wilson was dealt to the Denver Broncos. However, he only played in Denver for two seasons, missing the playoffs both times. He signed a one-year contract with the Steelers last summer after being cut by the Broncos.

Reasons for the Colts to Sign Him.

Chris Ballard, the general manager of the Colts, stated in his year-end press conference that the team will compete with quarterback Anthony Richardson. That would be a wise decision since it might encourage Richardson to improve as a player.

Seeing who Ballard brings in will be fascinating. This offseason, the team may add a player like Jameis Winston, Mac Jones, or Daniel Jones. However, if Russell Wilson decides not to return to Pittsburgh, the Colts ought to think about signing him.

Wilson is no longer a superstar capable of leading a club to the Super Bowl. Furthermore, he is not a spring chicken at 36. He can still lead a team to the playoffs, though, as he did this season.

The NFL panel discuss the appointment of Jeff Saturday by the Indianapolis Colts which has divided opinion.

So far in his career, Richardson has been prone to injuries. He might end up missing games the following season as well, of course. Wilson might step in and start in his place if that occurs.
