Following his dismissal and the rumors that followed, Chantel Rostant, the wife of former New England head coach Jerod Mayo, went after the Patriots, vowing to expose “all the lies” that she claims are being spread. Following a 4–13 record in his first season as coach, Mayo was fired.
“We never even considered speaking the truth… However, the number of lies we’ve read that are being told to maintain one’s dignity is beyond my comprehension. How did the class turn out? On her Instagram story, Chantel Rostant posted.
Since Sunday, we have taken the high road and let everyone to do what they want. However, it will not be accepted to play with someone’s name. The phony tales will end before the true ones do, I wager.
“The criticism you face is a sign of your untapped potential,” she shared on Instagram.
Jerod Mayo, who spent his entire eight-year playing career with New England, took over as head coach in 2024 following four seasons as the Patriots’ inside linebackers coach under Bill Belichick. He was also named to the team’s All-2010s Team.
Jerod Mayo was the NFL’s youngest head coach when he was hired. He was a hot topic of debate both before and after he was fired, and not just because he was succeeding the NFL’s all-time greatest coach, who had led the team for 24 seasons.
His brief tenure as head coach of New England was marred by controversy from the moment he was hired, including the beefing between Mayo and holdout Matthew Judon during training camp, his handling of the quarterback situation, his game management, rumors of a possible coup, criticism from Bill Belichick, and reports that he would frequently act more like a player than a head coach.
Dolphins Part Ways with Former Patriots All-Pro.
A former New England Patriots champion is currently searching for a new job.
Wes Welker, the Miami Dolphins’ wide receivers coach and pass game expert, was fired, the team revealed Friday. Danny Crossman, Miami’s coordinator of special teams, is also leaving.
Welker, now 43, is most remembered for his career as a wide receiver for the Patriots from 2007 to 2012, where he led the NFL in receptions three times, was selected to five All-Pro teams, and received five Pro Bowl selections. Following the 2015 season, he announced his retirement from playing and entered the coaching profession.
Following Mike McDaniel from the San Francisco 49ers, Welker became the wide receivers coach in Miami in 2022. However, after leading the NFL in throw yards per game in 2023, the 8-9 Dolphins were mainly lost offensively this season, dropping to 14th place. The team has concluded that Welker must leave since they are currently dealing with some very disgruntled receivers.
