FoxBorough Defensive end Keion White and DeMarcus Covington are good friends, according to Covington, who says he talks to him every day and they even eat Thanksgiving meal together.

Naturally, White’s remarks last week that expressed dissatisfaction with his play, a sense of disconnection from the system, doubt about his future, and a call for reforms made headlines.

When questioned about the comments on Thursday, Covington didn’t seem overly alarmed.

Covington declared, “I adore Keion.” “I think his attitude and everything he has for us is fantastic: ‘I want to win, I want to get better, I want to get coached harder.'” passion for the game. I believe he has done well from Year 1 to Year 2, which is what you want from your athletes.

“I am thrilled to work with him going ahead and watch him develop as a player, a person, and a man. You want everything to be flawless, but the truth is that it won’t be. However, I’m happy that he recognizes that he aspires to perfection. That’s excellent.

In light of those comments, Covington saw no need to get in touch with White again.

“I already have a connection to Keion,” he stated. I see it that way, as though I had a connection to Keion. Keion and I have a wonderful friendship; there was no separation between us. You’re referring to a man who joins me for Thanksgiving dinner at my residence.

“He’s attempting to achieve what I’m attempting to achieve… victory.”

White reiterated his comments to MassLive after Saturday’s 40-7 loss to the Chargers.

“I still believe that something needs to change,” he stated. “Obviously, we need to make a change since we’re losing. You will continue to lose if you continue to do the same thing.

“You will get the same results if you keep doing the same thing without altering anything or getting different results.”

Covington attributed it to the defensive star’s desire to get better.
