The Ohio State Buckeyes, ranked sixth, just suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of their bitter rival, the Michigan Wolverines, on Saturday. Buckeye Nation will need some time to bounce back from the loss, but Ohio State still appears to be guaranteed a spot in the College Football Playoff and has a lot to look forward to, including Wednesday’s National Signing Day.
Ohio State has one of the best recruiting classes in the country as the Class of 2025 formally announces their commitments. With the goal of bringing Ohio State back to national championship glory and, of course, defeating Michigan, something the Buckeyes have failed to do in the last four seasons, these future Buckeyes aspire to be important building bricks.
Tavien St. Clair, the Buckeyes’ five-star quarterback recruit and Ohio State’s top recruit in the Class of 2025, sent an encouraging message to Ohio State fans in the wake of the events. In an upbeat and open statement to his supporters, St. Clair formally announced his committment on Wednesday morning.
“I’m Coming.” On Wednesday morning, St. Clair made a posting.
A star at Bellefontaine High School in Bellefontaine, Ohio, St. Clair has stated that he preferred to remain at home. He officially announced his decision on National Signing Day, more than a year after initially committing to Ohio State.
Alabama was among the many prestigious schools that extended offers to St. Clair, but he decided to stay in his home state and play for the Buckeyes. Given that Ohio State will probably have an open quarterback competition after this season, his choice could prove to be quite important.
Julian Sayin, a transfer from Alabama, seems to be the front-runner in Columbus for now, but St. Clair might challenge Sayin for the starting position or possibly start right away. Similar to Michigan’s Bryce Underwood, who is the top-ranked quarterback in the 2025 class and is expected to have an immediate impact.
There is little doubt that the Buckeyes have their guy, and St. Clair is more eager than ever to make an immediate impression at Ohio State, where he will be joining one of the best recruiting classes in the country.
