On and off the field, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson never fails to win over fans. Jackson’s touching gesture after Monday night’s Ravens’ 30-23 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers left a lasting impression on a couple of young fans. Jackson took a moment to sign autographs for a group of eager young fans waiting inside SoFi Stadium following an incredible performance in which he passed for two touchdowns and raced for another.

Even though it’s common for athletes to leave games quickly, Jackson went above and beyond by giving his beanie hat to a child in the audience. He continued by giving the other children some of the items he had worn during the game. The fans’ shouts of delight were priceless, and their excitement was evident. ESPN released a video of the incident, and the post was replete with compliments on the quarterback’s kindness.

“Lamar is the best! For those children, core memory! MVP,” a fan wrote. “That makes Lamar a real one! “They’ll never forget that,” someone else said. A few weeks earlier, Lamar Jackson had a similar experience with a young girl who created him a friendship bracelet following a victory over the Denver Broncos. Jackson was so touched by the considerate present that he gave her his beanie in exchange.

The MVP-caliber athlete’s heart is still evident in Jackson’s actions. “To tell the truth, I just like the bracelet. It’s an awesome present. I’m grateful,” he told the press. Jackson’s relationship with his fans has garnered media attention, and it’s evident that the Ravens quarterback has inspired many people with both his skill on the game and his generosity off it. Jackson’s acts serve as a reminder that sports heroes aren’t solely determined by their on-field exploits as the Ravens prepare for their upcoming matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. They also help people they meet make lifelong memories.
