Forecasts for Ohio State football’s rivalry matchup with Michigan

The college football regular season’s last week has here. The pursuit of a national championship is just getting started, but that portion of the year is coming to a conclusion. With only one set of games remaining to decide who advances to all four big conference title games, this season has flown by. No conference has a lock on the championship game. If the Ohio State football team wins The Game, they will have a decent chance of earning a bid in the Big Ten. This is the greatest rivalry in sports. This week is Michigan-Ohio State.

There is no greater option than The Game. Despite their intense animosity, Michigan and Ohio State consistently produce amazing football games. Despite being heavy favorites this weekend, the Buckeyes haven’t defeated the Wolverines since 2019. Will Michigan play spoiler or will they end their skid?

Let’s examine both of these squads in more detail before discussing predictions for this match.

This year is not going well for Michigan.

After winning a national title in January, the Michigan football team is currently 6-5 and has no chance of making the playoffs. A victory over Ohio State this weekend would make a poor season much more bearable for the Wolverines, who will travel to a lackluster bowl game.

Sherrone Moore is leading the Wolverines for the first time this season, and to be honest, he didn’t have much to work with from the team from the previous season. It is evident that Michigan has lost everything from the previous season.

However, Michigan has won each of their three rivalry matchups thus far. They defeated Northwestern last weekend to retain the George Jewett Trophy, defeated Michigan State to retain the Paul Bunyan Trophy, and defeated Minnesota to retain the Little Brown Jug in Ann Arbor. But compared to those three, this matchup with Ohio State will be a little different.

This must be Ohio State’s and Ryan Day’s year.

Since taking over at Ohio State, Ryan Day has excelled in the Big Ten. Against every team that isn’t Michigan, that is. Day has lost three straight games against the Wolverines, and Buckeyes supporters will be furious if he is unable to defeat them this season.

This season, Day couldn’t have asked for a simpler setting. Almost all of Michigan’s top players from the previous campaign left, and they will be visiting Columbus with a new head coach and coaching staff. For Ohio State and Ryan Day, it doesn’t get any simpler than this.

You may disregard the records for this rivalry, even though Ohio State is a clear favorite. The Buckeyes were up when Michigan was down under Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke. The rivalry still included many very tight games. Ohio State had a bad year throughout the time, whereas Michigan had one outstanding year. It was a close game, too. This rivalry results in close games.

Ohio State still have to give it their all if they hope to win. The Game is it. Three forecasts for it are as follows:

Ohio State football predictions for rivalry clash with Michigan

Two touchdowns will be scored by Jeremiah Smith.

Ohio State consistently produces huge plays in crucial games and has a talented wide receiver. It has been Marvin Harrison Jr. in recent years. It’s Jeremiah Smith now. They will probably be missing their star, Will Johnson, and this Michigan secondary has displayed some flaws. Smith will have a great day and no one will be able to hang out with him.

More than 300 yards will be thrown by Will Howard.

Both quarterback Will Howard and Jeremiah Smith will have a fantastic day. The Wolverines will struggle without Will Johnson, and their secondary just cannot keep up with all of these weaponry. If the Wolverines want a shot, they must put a lot of pressure on Howard and assault the wounded Buckeyes’ offensive line. But it won’t be sufficient.

Ohio State will prevail 31–10.

This Saturday, Ohio State will snap their losing skid in the rivalry, and it won’t be a close one. Indeed, the records can often be thrown out, and this game can still be enjoyable in spite of everything. Not this year. The Wolverines may not have Colston Loveland, their finest offensive weapon, and the Buckeyes will be too much for Michigan to handle. They won’t be able to move the football without him.

On Saturday, the game will begin at 12:14 ET at Ohio Stadium in Columbus and will be broadcast on Fox. Right now, Ohio State has a 20.5-point advantage.

Preview of Week 14 of college football

Every year, the last week of the college football season is exciting. The greatest rivalry in all of sports is The Game, and it just gets worse. But this week has a ton of other exciting rivalry games planned, so it should be entertaining to watch.

ESPN’s College GameDay will be headed to College Station this weekend as Texas A&M will be hosting Texas, and that’s an important one as both teams are looking to find a way into the SEC title game. Here are a few more significant college football games:

Clemson is pulling for a Miami defeat in the ACC. With a game against South Carolina this weekend, the Tigers are finished with conference play, and they need the Hurricanes to lose to Syracuse away from home.

In the Big 12, everything is in complete chaos. As of right now, Colorado, Arizona State, BYU, and Iowa State are the four teams at the top with a 6-2 record. The Sun Devils will visit Arizona, the Cougars will host Utah, the Cyclones will host Kansas State, and the Buffaloes will host Oklahoma State. Some bizarre tiebreakers could occur.

It all basically boils down to The Game in the Big Ten. They’re in if Ohio State defeats Michigan. Both the Hoosiers and the Nittany Lions would have one loss to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes would have two losses if the Buckeyes lose and Penn State and Indiana win as heavy favorites. Indiana would lose the tiebreaker to Penn State.

Finally, if Texas defeats Texas A&M, they will face the Bulldogs, and we know that Georgia will play in the SEC championship game. If not, tiebreakers would be used because four clubs with identical records would be tied at the top of the rankings. If the Aggies win, things might get interesting.

One final Saturday for college football. Have fun, people.
