Due to a foot ailment, Kalif Raymond is out. Head coach Dan Campbell was among a few Lions employees and trainers on the field when the receiver sustained an injury during a punt return. As the third quarter came to a close, Raymond was taken to the back, brought back to the sidelines, and then carted out once more.

Detroit’s third touchdown drive ended without Taylor Decker. After being rolled up on a sack by the Indianapolis Colts, the left tackle sustained injuries to his knee and ankle. The next drive, however, was started by Decker back at left tackle, with Michael Niese and Dan Skipper filling in while the team’s longest-tenured player was in the tent.

Due to a shoulder injury, David Montgomery’s return is deemed uncertain. Raymond was passed by the Lions running back as he made his way back to the locker room. As the Lions and their running assault had cleared the path in Week 12, he exited with eight carries for 37 yards and one touchdown.

Detroit led the Colts 21–6 going into the fourth quarter.

With a Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions hope to build on their recent 24-6 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. But in only one week, the Lions’ depth will be tested as a number of important players struggle with injuries.

Updates on Injuries and Concerns

After the victory over the Colts, head coach Dan Campbell gave an update on the health of a number of players. Campbell recognized that there is uncertainty surrounding some individuals, thus the injury report for Thursday’s game is still unknown.

According to SI, Campbell stated, “Yeah, I mean, we’ll see.” So much of this—I won’t tell, really—you know the four, David Montgomery and Kalif (Raymond), of course. Carlton (Davis III) was the one who was pulled late after Deck (Taylor Decker) managed to return. So, I’m not sure. About three of those individuals, I feel fine. Even while Kalif is capable of being a little more serious, none of those guys will be prepared for Thursday.

Although he is still hopeful about Decker, Davis, and Montgomery, Campbell admitted that Raymond will probably not be available. “I simply don’t know.” Yes, but notice that I’m still unaware of Chicago’s situation. I’m sure they have injuries, but I’m not sure what they’re dealing with. The league doesn’t care that everyone has them. We play this and we roll, you know, and they set the schedule.

Campbell underlined the significance of adjusting to the situation and depending on the team’s depth despite the uncertainties around injuries. “Well, whatever happens, guy, and we’ll be prepared. When Thanksgiving rolls around, our division opponent will be locked in and prepared to go, while our unit will be prepared to return home on Thursday.

The Lions’ ability to manage the injuries and depth concerns as they get ready for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Bears will be essential to sustaining their stellar season and advancing farther in the playoffs.
