Even though LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, he still has a lot of love for the Miami Heat, the team he played with and won his first two NBA Championship trophies with, along with his friends Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. In addition to his success on the court, James’ tenure with the Heat was equally successful in the footwear department. His signature Nike line produced a number of models and colorways that were worthy of championships, including the Miami Vice-inspired “South Beach” palette, which was first seen on the LeBron 8 and is a constantly changing blend of vibrant, ’80s-inspired aqua and pink highlighter tones.
Following his team’s first NFL season loss, Travis Kelce is remaining focused on the game.
On Sunday, November 17, Kelce, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills 21-30 at home. Travis offered his thoughts on what the Chiefs should learn from the sad outcome during the most recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce.
“The Bills’ four-quarter football game was fantastic. On Wednesday, November 20, the tight end stated, “It was all over the board.” “There’s no doubt that [we’re] starting over. The Bills were one of the best teams in the NFL going into that game, so I don’t want to call it a wake-up call, but I think it was a great reminder. Sometimes you simply need to see things from a new angle.
He went on, “If you go back at this game, you can see that there has been a pattern over the last three or four weeks. You simply need to adjust things. Go back to the fundamentals and the basics. And really just resume attending work during the week. Even though I am quite certain that this game will improve us, I also give the Bills credit for their presence.
With nine wins under their belt, the Chiefs were unbeaten this season until Sunday’s defeat. Although the Chiefs defense “didn’t play bad,” Jason, 37, said that the Bills were able to make “plays at the right time” to win.
Jason remarked, “[Quarterback] Josh [Allen] played great,” “This was two really good teams going up against each other.”
Jason continued by praising Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid for his responses to inquiries regarding the team’s loss of their winning streak after Sunday’s game. Travis concurred when both stated in postgame press conferences that the team’s ultimate goal was not to remain unbeaten.
“You don’t think, ‘Oh, I really want to win this game so I can remain undefeated,'” he said. “No, we want to win this game because we enjoy f—ing playing against the Buffalo Bills, who are among the top teams in the league, and we have a lot of really close football games against them. Playing against the National Football League’s top teams gets me heated up, and even though I was pumped up for this one, I didn’t give it my all. And I’m annoyed by that s—.”
The Bills’ defeat inspired Travis to “go right back into work on Monday after the game and get after it.” Prior to this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers, he assured Chiefs supporters that the team will make an effort to improve the situation.
“I think this is something that you won’t see out of us in the future,” he stated. “I believe we have a high level of confidence in our ability to resolve the issue. We possess every piece of talent required to win another Super Bowl. And I believe that everyone is aware of that. We simply need to be our best selves. And for four quarters, we weren’t that.
Travis admitted that the Bills were “fundamentally stronger in many aspects” compared to his team. He took accountability for emphasizing the basics during practice, ensuring he actively participates rather than simply going through the motions. “I need to focus, get the timing right with the quarterback, and address these issues,” he explained, adding that many of the problems are “completely fixable.”
Travis stated that he had “all the faith in the world” in his teammates, even though they are not 10-0 for the season. “I don’t give an f— how your body’s feeling, I don’t give an f— where your mentality is off the field,” he said. “We’re here to help you figure things out as soon as you enter that building. Additionally, we are here to improve as football players for the squad. And I believe that in order for everyone to see how things are done, I must be the leader that I have been in the past and hold myself accountable.”
LeBron James Honor Miami
Even though King James’ career is long gone, he has been known to pay homage to the ‘Yams and maintain the “South Beach” vibes with his PE (player edition) sneakers. His most recent pair is a LeBron 22 “South Beach,” which he wore to the Lakers’ most recent game against the Utah Jazz. The LeBron 22 has a flamingo vibe with a lot of pink on its patent leather upper that is counterbalanced by aqua details on the heel, perforated tongue, and underlaid Swoosh. This contrasts with the majority of “South Beach” releases, which strongly emphasize aqua tones and use pink as an accent color. The tongue’s emblem and the midsole’s Swoosh both incorporate yellow accents.
Although it’s unlikely that this pair will ever be available in stores, you can still view it above. James will undoubtedly create more homage models throughout the season. For the record, James had a great on-court debut as well. The Lakers defeated the Jazz 124-118, and James finished with 26 points and 12 assists. Dalton Knecht, his rookie teammate, scored 37 points and tied a rookie record with nine made three-pointers. At the time of James’ arrival in Miami, Knecht wouldn’t have even been old enough to watch an R-rated film in theaters.
