During the Lions-Texans game, former Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington was shocked by his son’s revelation.

Together with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are still unbeaten, the Detroit Lions have survived some of the worst luck in modern NFL history to emerge as maybe the league’s best team. Joey Harrington, a retired NFL player and former Oregon Ducks signal caller who was chosen third overall in the 2002 NFL Draft, was one player who was anticipated to help the Lions escape the NFC North Division’s gloom.

Before finishing his career with the Falcons and Dolphins, Harrington played four seasons in Detroit, achieving a career-best 3,047 passing yards in 2004. In recent social media posts during Sunday’s thrilling game in Houston against CJ Stroud and the Texans, the retired 46-year-old from Portland, Oregon, revealed that despite often being blamed for the team’s struggles, he has maintained a positive relationship with the Detroit Lions.

As he watched Detroit mount and execute a stunning comeback against the Texans in Houston, Harrington engaged supporters in barbering and inside jokes. As the Texans took a decisive first-half lead, he counseled a distraught Lions supporter to “take a deep breath” and look at the wider picture.

Harrington, a former Ducks and Lions signal caller, appeared to joke about his regrettable history of being fired frequently while wearing the Honolulu Blue and Silver after a fan presented him a Lions shirt.

Harrington also disclosed that, contrary to what he would have thought based on another recent tweet, his youngest kid has turned into a Lions fan.
