In light of SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey’s recent declaration that he will ban head coaches if their players fabricate injuries, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is the focus of attention. Georgia football is in a fantastic position going into their game this weekend because the Rebels are known for having done this the most.
However, it seems that Kiffin has discovered a fresh method to obtain this edge over rivals. Kiffin added 26 players to their injury report on Wednesday. It is not a typo, I assure you.
The idea that Kiffin and Ole Miss did this to obtain a competitive edge may have sounded absurd, but the Rebels’ revised injury report on Thursday might support it.
As of Thursday night’s updated injury report, 11 Ole Miss players were removed from the report altogether & 7 were upgraded to a more probable status for Saturday’s game vs Georgia.
Shout-out to the miracle workers in the training room in Oxford. 🙏 https://t.co/dzJSMNKpCj pic.twitter.com/jAm2ETnLnB

18 Ole Miss athletes report feeling less injured.
18 out of Ole Miss’s 26 players reported improvements in their injury reports in a single day. This includes the removal of 11 players from their report in total.
Here, one of two things occurred. Either they included too many athletes on their original report in an attempt to obtain a competitive edge, or Ole Miss has the best athletic training team in sports history. I’m not trying to disparage Ole Miss’s athletic training team, but they probably aren’t the greatest in history. Thus, the ladder is the most likely situation that is occurring.
It is unclear whether Kiffin intended for this to happen, but if coach is prepared to instruct his player to fabricate an injury, then he is undoubtedly willing to include an excessive number of players on their injury report.
Fortunately, Georgia and Kirby Smart would never do this. They care more about improving and winning on the field than they do about all this extra crap that might not even help them obtain an advantage.
