Deion Sanders describes how it’s “sexy” when the vocal critics of Colorado football are around.

Deion Sanders provided an intriguing explanation of how Colorado football handles the significant amount of vitriol the team encounters when traveling. In a news conference on October 23, Coach Prime disclosed that he and his team find it “sexy” and are attracted to it. Really.

“We like to be booed and naysayed and hated,” mentioned Sanders (via Footballscoop). “We get aroused by that. It turns us on; in fact, it’s kind of attractive.

“When I played, I felt that way. I enjoyed being jeered, yelled at, and despised when traveling. I believe that we enjoy being the ones who are underdogs and that kind of person. It’s not that we don’t check the odds or anything, such as underdogs while we’re away from home. However, we do enjoy that. We genuinely do.

When it comes to managing his Colorado football program, Deion Sanders is anything but traditional.

When it comes to Coach Prime’s actions, everything you know about traditional college football coaching is completely irrelevant. At the start of the NIL era, Sanders was promoted to Division I head coach and is now managing a semi-pro sport. When he was alive, stating something like this would have created a considerably greater commotion.

That’s a positive thing, in a way. In addition to dramatizing the situation and using hyperbole, Coach Prime is also providing the public with the kind of viral quote that only “Prime Time” can generate.

But when these kinds of soundbites go on the radio, wow, is it startling. As long as Sanders, or anyone else influenced by “Prime Time,” is alive, it will never be. For the time being, it will continue to appear as a new-wave approach that will never be accepted by more established fans.

However, judging on the current state of affairs, it is probably not a problem for the elder Boulder enthusiasts.

According to an observer, Deion Sanders is anticipated to prevent Sheuder Sanders from being selected by two different NFL teams.

In the past, Colorado coach Deion Sanders has mentioned that he expects his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, to avoid certain teams in the 2025 NFL Draft. ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky suggested that the Sanders family will specifically steer clear of two franchises. Deion emphasized before the 2024 season that the teams drafting Shedeur and teammate Travis Hunter matter, particularly considering factors like weather.

“There is a 0% chance Deion allows Shedeur to be drafted by Cleveland,” Orlovsky said. “Cleveland or Carolina won’t happen.”

The Browns have a dilemma on their hands with Deshaun Watson’s contract predicament, and the Panthers recently benched former Alabama standout Bryce Young, last year’s No. 1 overall pick, at quarterback in favor of Andy Dalton.

Deion Sanders earlier stated, “I know where I want them to go,” on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. There are some cities where it won’t occur.Eli (Manning) will be the one. We’re not going to do that.

Sanders remembers that the “Eli” story began when the multiple Super Bowl champion refused to play for the San Diego Chargers, who selected him first overall in 2004. The rest is history. That compelled a trade to the New York Giants.

“Dude, hurry up. You need to account for those things. Sanders stated on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, as originally transcribed by Pro Football Talk, “That stuff matters.” “For example, I don’t want my child, Shedeur Sanders, to be lost the next year. Texas is where he grew up. He performed in Colorado and Jackson. Colorado’s season ends before it gets cold. I’m merely planning far in advance. That is not what I want for him.

Sanders is still one of the best quarterbacks in the nation going into Week 9, despite a poor offensive line in front of him. Todd McShay, a former NFL Draft analyst for ESPN, is convinced that Sanders will be selected early in the first round in April of next year.

McShay recently commented, “Just finished all 94 plays of Colorado offense vs. Baylor,” following an early-season matchup. “Shedeur was amazing, even without the Hail Mary. He doesn’t require his receivers to work as hard for the ball as many other hopefuls do. The ’25 class’s best pure passer in terms of anticipation, placement, throwing folks open, etc.

According to Ryan Wilson, an NFL Draft analyst for CBS Sports, Sanders will be selected by the New Orleans Saints with the eighth overall choice in his most recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft.

After his father, Deion Sanders, transferred from Jackson State to Colorado, Sanders rated as a four-star transfer in the 2023 portal cycle. During that window, the younger Sanders was the nation’s fourth-ranked quarterback and 29th-ranked transfer prospect overall. When he graduated from Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas, in the class of 2021, he was regarded as a three-star talent. In Texas at the time, Sanders was ranked as the 37th best quarterback and the 75th best recruit overall, regardless of position.
