The Buffalo Bills have played terrible football for the last two weeks. They have been outscored 58-30, and the NFL was made aware of their dire need for a wide receiver by their offensive display against the Houston Texans.
Even though Josh Allen only completed 30% of his passes, he is not entirely to blame for creating the incorrect kind of history. He made some dubious throws, but his receivers provided absolutely no assistance. It’s concerning that Keon Coleman led the team in receiving yards with just one reception—49 yards—as the top receiver.
Buffalo turned on Coleman, Mack Hollins, Curtis Samuel, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to start the receiving game against the Texans because Khalil Shakir was not playing. According to Matthew Bove, all we witnessed was a total of four receptions and eighteen targets split among these four receivers. It’s obvious as day that the Bills must take this serious issue seriously.
The Davante Adams to Buffalo train is being traveled by NFL veteran Larry Fitzgerald.
During an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals shared his opinions about Adams and his potential future. Fitzgerald stated that the Bills would be the ideal destination due to the position’s obvious necessity. Adams, who is nearing the twilight of his career, ought to desire to settle in a position that will offer him the best opportunity.

For Adams, the trade conversation has intensified over the past week. Adams’ departure from Las Vegas is inevitable; the only question left is when. A deal for Adams has some problems. Given the cost of his contract, the Raiders would probably want to avoid having to pick up a portion of his compensation.
In addition, Buffalo faces salary cap issues, so Bills supporters may be upset if a deal for Adams doesn’t happen unless Brandon Beane works some major financial magic.
Bills Are Under Fire for Their Dizzying Josh Allen Decision.
After choosing to start quarterback Josh Allen in Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans despite what seemed to be a head injury, the Buffalo Bills are under criticism. The team is providing smelling salts to Allen to assist him return to the game.
On October 6, Allen was hurt in the fourth quarter of the Texans’ 23-20 victory. He took a strong hit after releasing the ball and bounced his head off the ground. Later in the quarter, Allen returned to the field and stayed there until the finish of the game after initially being taken to the sidelines and then being taken inside the medical tent for assessment.
The Bills are coming under increasing pressure for the choice, particularly in light of several well-publicized quarterback head injuries.
The Bills faced backlash for bringing Josh Allen into the game too soon.
Before the team’s medical personnel arrived on the field to assess Allen, the quarterback lay face-down on the ground and was motionless for a short while. Allen’s injuries looked to be serious at first. Soon later, Allen was able to sit up and move independently to the sidelines. He first sat on the bench before being led to the medical evaluation tent.
The Bills forced a turnover, and although backup Mitch Trubisky entered the game for the first play of the ensuing drive, Allen returned right away. A member of the team’s crew was shown giving out smelling salts—a concoction of ammonia and other chemicals—to patients who had been injured or had lost consciousness on the CBS broadcast prior to his arrival.
Emmanuel Acho, a former NFL player who is now a commentator, chastised the team for their choice.
Josh Allen appeared to be knocked out, but instead of giving him a warning, they simply threw him back into the game. In an X post, Acho added, “As if that was going to undo any head trauma he just suffered.”
Some others took issue with the NFL’s concussion protocol, which calls for an independent physician to do an initial assessment before deciding whether a player is fit to play again.
“The entire concussion process is flawed if they allowed Josh Allen to return to the game after he clearly smashed his head on the turf.” In an X post, former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel stated, “He looked like he was out.”
After Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was diagnosed with two concussions during the 2022 season, and after he was ruled out with a back ailment in a game against the Bills, many speculated that Tagovailoa had another concussion. The league was already under fire.
Josh Allen Not in Peril
It doesn’t seem like Allen sustained a head injury during the play, despite the criticism, so he might not be in danger of missing time in the upcoming week. After the game, the quarterback for the Bills told reporters that he took a “big shot to the chest” on the play and rolled his ankle. On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott reaffirmed that Allen is OK.
Alaina Getzenberg posted on X, stating, “Sean McDermott has reiterated that Josh Allen was medically cleared to return yesterday and that he is not in concussion protocol today.”
