After starting the 2024 NFL regular season 1-4 and losing three straight games, the Cleveland Browns are in reverse.

Cleveland’s offense, which is among the lowest in points scored per game (15.8) and dead last in average total yards per game (239.4 yards), has been offensive at times.

Both pundits and supporters have demanded radical adjustments, from benching quarterback Deshaun Watson to dismissing almost every coach on the staff, including head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Joe Thomas, a left tackle and NFL Hall of Famer for the Browns, had a different opinion on the final point.

The left tackle gave the Jets’ ownership group a clear message after head coach Robert Saleh was fired: that message also applied in Cleveland.

The takeaway is to delay firing the team’s leader too soon.

How does firing your head coach at this time improve the Jets, if they still think they have a squad capable of winning the pennant? Thomas, an NFL Network analyst as well, stated on X on Tuesday.

Respected in the league, Thomas’s warning to the Jets also extends to his previous NFL organization.

In a time when pundits aren’t being very sensible, the analyst is providing a voice of reason.

Stefanski has been recognized for his coaching abilities and has been named Coach of the Year twice in the last four seasons.

The head coach is undoubtedly qualified for the position.

Supporters have become irate because Stefanski’s catchphrase, which he has said many times after games: “We’ll get it fixed,” hasn’t materialized.

There’s no denying that Cleveland needs to change.

However, at the top of the coaching chart, those adjustments are not necessary.

A Message For His Teammates From Jameis Winston.

With a record of 1-4, the Cleveland Browns must improve their on-field performance in order for the AFC North team to start winning.

A portion of that might involve tweaks to the fundamentals, like improving at tackling and blocking like they haven’t during their appalling start to the 2024 campaign.

According to Jameis Winston, some adjustments are necessary to restore the excitement that his teammates once felt for the game of football.

The seasoned backup quarterback for the Cleveland Browns sent a message to his team on Tuesday night while attending a football-related event (via commentator Justin Cooper’s X account).

Amidst the din of children, Winston remarked, “(These kids are) focused on having fun and doing what they love doing, and that’s playing football.”

Jameis Winston Has A Message For His Teammates

That’s our main priority as Cleveland Browns players, Winston continued. “Our main goals are to enjoy ourselves, reconnect with what makes a Cleveland Brown unique, and execute our game on the football field.”

The Browns’ rough start to the season has given them little to celebrate. In Week 5, their usually strong defense struggled to contain rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, resulting in a 34–13 loss. The team has yet to score more than 18 points in a game. Their third and final game of their current road trip is set for this week against the Philadelphia Eagles.
