According to Serj Tankian, a new System of A Down album would provide the group with a “fresh start” in the future.

Since reuniting in 2010, the ‘Chop Suey’ group has not released an album since 2005’s ‘Hypnotize.’ However, Serj,57, has stepped away from touring for “artistic reasons and health reasons,” but he believes new music may be released in the future. The group had a four-year hiatus after that.

He told The Sun, “If System ever decided to make a new album, it would be a fresh start, taking things in a beautiful, brand-new direction.”

“We do have some previously unreleased, set material. I’m not sure how many songs there are, but there are a few that I believe would be interesting to save as well since they are some truly incredible jewels.”

Serj went on to insist that even if he doesn’t want to go back to touring, he’s fine playing infrequent gigs.

“I simply stopped doing full tours for a combination of artistic and health reasons,” he continued. But for us, doing solo performances as events has been tremendously fulfilling. It’s become more and more special because we’re both loving it so much.”

In the past, Serj has acknowledged that, in order for System Of A Down to be able to go on tour, he would be content if another singer took his place.

Serj clarified during an appearance on the podcast “Broken Record”: “I’ve given them that chance [to succeed me] and have been quite supportive of it for many years.

He said, “If they wanted to continue in a way that differed from my preferences—like if they wanted to tour extensively while I prefer just doing a few shows here and there, since I’m not really into heavy touring—I’d be totally open to that and fair to them.”

“May I come up on stage with you and use your guitar?,” he asked in a very courteous manner. Playing with a Beatles was quite intimidating. At a Deep Purple show, Ritchie Blackmore and George Harrison had a jam session with Little Richard.

In 1984, Harrison made the decision to see Deep Purple while in Australia, and the two of them ended up sharing the stage for an eight-minute Lucille

Ritchie Blackmore launched his brand-new “Tales from the Tavern” YouTube series last month. In it, the legendary Deep Purple electric guitar player reflects on his illustrious career by sharing experiences from some of his most significant turning points.

Blackmore reminisced about playing with George Harrison in the mid-1980s in the most recent episode. At the time, the Beatle had unexpectedly joined Deep Purple on stage in Australia to jam Little Richard’s Lucille.

True to form, Blackmore recounted the story with a dash of his well-known British wit, saying that Harrison had once begged him to join the Beatles.

“I said, ‘No, absolutely not,’ because I’d never heard of them and I knew they were going nowhere,” he jokes.

Regarding the moment he really got to know Harrison, Blackmore says, “The fact is, he lived right down the road and was friends with both Ian Paice and Jon Lord.”

“He asked me, very kindly, if I may come up on stage with you and use your guitar while we were in Australia as Deep Purple. I said, “Obviously.” I felt honoured.

As expected, we all walked up on stage and performed Little Richard’s classic rock ‘n’ roll song Lucille. We had enjoyable time.
