The Denver Broncos are the team Travis Hunter of Colorado hopes to select in the 2025 NFL Draft.

With his continued success as a wide receiver and cornerback for the Buffaloes, Hunter is one of the favorites to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

The junior has been playing for Boulder under Deion Sanders for the past two seasons, earning a reputation as one of the best college football players.

The 21-year-old intends to stay in the Denver region and is anticipated to sign with the NFL the following year.

Hunter said on the Kickin’ it With Dee podcast, “I wish I could go to the Broncos, just to stay in Colorado because so many people welcomed me with open arms.”

They showed us love that, in a different situation, we could never have experienced.

Above all, however, Hunter hopes to be drafted first overall, an accolade which happened to Caleb Williams in 2024, with the quarterback ending up in Chicago.

Hunter said, “I never dreamed of it until a few years ago when I realized I had a chance to become the first pick.”

“Becoming the first pick became my main goal.” Where it is doesn’t even matter to me.

Hunter leads the 4-1 Buffaloes in touchdowns and yards this season with 561. The team’s next game is against Kansas State on October 12.

Deion Sanders might cause Travis Hunter to lose out on the Heisman Trophy.

Travis Hunter is having another stellar season for the Colorado Buffaloes, with many fans and analysts predicting he’ll win the Heisman Trophy by season’s end.

However, some believe his chances are being hindered by the heightened attention that comes with playing for the Buffs.

Some believe that Deion Sanders, the head coach, draws unwarranted attention to Hunter since he generates headlines everywhere he goes.

Even Rich Eisen chimed in, saying that voters’ animosity toward Deion will be the only reason Hunter does not take home the trophy.

“There will be anti-Deion bias if he loses. He’s having fun with each snap. He plays defense like a pro and has unmatched routes. Eisen vowed, “I swear, he’s going to do this in the pros.”

Hunter agrees.
Eisen’s comments aren’t a one-off, with Hunter sharing the sentiment during a recent episode of ‘Kickin It With Dee’.

“I might be the first person on their list. Simply put, they are remaining silent. Hunter remarked, “And I might also be at the bottom of the list because they simply don’t like my coach.”

Hunter’s opponents are also aware of how good his season is going. The Colorado star was praised by Wildcats head coach Chris Klieman before of the Buffaloes’ next game against Kansas State.

“Everyone talks about Hunter; he could be the top pick in the draft. I’m amazed by how that kid plays every snap on both defense and offense,” said Klieman.
