According to Buffaloes coach and Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, a quarterback for the Colorado Rockies, Shedeur Sanders is regarded as one of the best pure passers in the 2025 NFL Draft class, and a team needs to make a long-term choice at that position before next spring. In a recent interview with former NFL star receiver Chad Johnson, Coach Prime alluded to his son’s preferred destination—the Miami Dolphins.
“What do you do business-wise if you’re the Dolphins?” Sanders stated through the ‘Nightcap’ podcast, which The Miami Herald transcribed. “What I’m saying is, do you take a quarterback, or do you say, ‘Tua, let’s check this out, let’s see what we’re going to do?'” Is his wellbeing more crucial than that?
Sanders was informed by Johnson that the Colorado coach clearly wanted his kid to end up in Miami.
Sanders stated, “I want what’s best for him,” in reference to Shedeur. “I also want him to be content. There’s a draft process, so you really don’t get to decide where your son goes, but you know us. We all know who isn’t wanting to win in the NFL, and you know how we are. You already know who spends year after year, year after year, in the basement. That is not the scenario you want for your child or any member of your family. Not one, not a single one of them. Thus, we are aware of the time.”
Deion Sanders, along with fellow Colorado standout Travis Hunter, stated earlier this spring that there are some locations in which he does not want his kid to play as an NFL rookie the following season.
“I know where I kind of want them to go, so all of this is subjective,” Sanders stated in an April “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast episode. “And let’s not overlook Sanders, Shilo. But I know where I want them to go. Certain cities are exempt from this phenomenon.Eli [Manning] will make an appearance. We’re not acting that way.
Recalling the “Eli saga,” Sanders says it began when the eventual two-time Super Bowl champion turned down the opportunity to play for the San Diego Chargers, who had drafted him first overall in 2004. The rest is history as a result of forcing a trade to the New York Giants.
Deion Sanders emphasized how crucial it is to join the league as a member of a dependable group.
“Get moving, dude. You need to account for those things. In March, Deion Sanders stated on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, “That stuff matters.” “Like, I don’t want Shedeur Sanders, my kid, to be unemployed the following year. He was raised in Texas. He performed in Colorado and Jackson. In Colorado, the season ends before it gets cold. I’m merely planning far in advance. That’s not what I want for him.”
Shedeur Sanders is a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, while Hunter, a multi-positional talent, is also a first-round pick.
Early in the season, the Buford (Ga.) High football team, led by linebacker Mantrez Walker, is comparable to the Buffaloes’ 2024 club. With a lackluster offensive showing in the beginning of the season, the Wolves have persevered to emerge as one of the best teams in the Peach State’s 6A rankings.
Before going on a four-game winning streak and defeating Benedictine (29-28), Rosell (52-17), Douglas County (31-14), and Discover (46-0), Buford had a 13-10 loss at Milton. The Wolves have a significant matchup coming up after having a bye week.
Walker told BuffStampede.com, “To be honest, things have been going great.” “We didn’t start the first game the way we wanted to; we lost, but I think we’ve improved every week, and my contribution has grown each week.”
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Walker visited Stanford last summer but reaffirmed his commitment to the Buffaloes. After four games, he was tied for second on the Wolves’ defense with 20 tackles, including five tackles for loss.
“I’ve been able to play outside the box and show versatility on defense,” he said. “You can see it in my film this season.”
Walker has been hard at work on the current task, hoping to make it all-state. Walker had to put down the call from BuffStampede.com and come back later because he had schoolwork to finish. Still, he’s had ample leisure time to watch the Buffaloes this season.
“Seeing them has been enjoyable,” Walker remarked. “Every week, I’ve watched them get better and work as a unit. The sight has been pleasing. The moment Nikhai Hill-Green hit that Baylor guy is my fondest memory.
“Colorado is prepared to welcome me and include me immediately. They are prepared to welcome our class and create history.”
Walker stated that although he hasn’t made reservations, he intends to attend a Buffs home game this season.
“Very soon,” he predicted. “I like to watch Colorado play and experiment with defense. I observe their various gestures, checks, and how they interact with each other and communicate.”
