After their spectacular upset win over the Georgia Bulldogs, the Alabama Crimson Tide rose to the top of the nation; this achievement might not have been possible without true freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams.

Williams, who is only 17 years old, had a huge impact on the game. Late in the half, after the Crimson Tide had blown a 30-7 lead at halftime, they lost momentum and the lead. Williams then caught a spectacular 75-yard touchdown.

Bryant-Denny Stadium erupted in cheers as he demonstrated his incredible speed and dexterity. Williams’ play put Alabama ahead 41–34, which ended up being the game’s winning score.

Williams put on a spectacular display, and the SEC honored him on Monday by naming him the SEC Freshman of the Week in what is perhaps the best conference in college football.

He made two incredible catches—one of which set up the game-winning touchdown—and a juggling reception that went viral on the internet.
