LeBron James has expressed his wish to play alongside his kid Bronny James on the court in public.

The veteran forward for the Los Angeles Lakers has been patiently working to cross the final objective off his career bucket list. LeBron had his first taste of that fantasy earlier this week when he and Bronny went back to the Lakers practice facility to start getting ready for the new campaign.

In an interview for the “Gojo & Golic” podcast, LeBron described the initial sessions in detail. Unusually, he acknowledged that he was distracted while on the court, trying to mentally record his son’s progress toward his rookie season.

“We went back to the gym this week, and it was actually the first time that Bronny and I were essentially on the floor as professionals, training, competing, and getting ready for the season,” James remarked. “I kind of lost focus a couple of times, and I’m not used to losing focus when I’m on the floor. There were a few occasions when I turned to view him from the side and observed his preparation and subsequent actions. I have a feeling that this year will be fantastic for both of us.

It is anticipated that Bronny will play a major portion of the upcoming season in the G-League. Many speculated that the Lakers coaching staff would develop him gradually, meaning he would play a lot of G-League minutes while honing his skill set. His performances at the Summer League in Las Vegas sparked doubts about his preparedness to play in the NBA.

Coach Dane Johnson of the Lakers summer league noted, “He had two pretty good games last two.” “I believe it will only benefit him as we move into the summer, allowing us to focus on various things with him. Simply the assurance that he can perform at this caliber. It will still require a significant amount of time and repetitions.

Still, there are others in NBA circles who believe Bronny will have a part in the Lakers’ season opener. In doing so, LeBron and Bronny would be able to share the court for the first time, which would provide LeBron the opportunity he has been waiting for and possibly explain why he is still playing basketball so close to becoming forty.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe recently mentioned on the Bill Simmons Podcast, “He’s definitely playing in the opening game so they can have a moment together. They’ll pass to each other or something like that because that’s the plan.”

LeBron, with his extensive NBA experience, knows that Bronny will face challenges in earning playing time, as late second-round picks rarely see much action in their rookie season. Bronny also needs to understand that the team’s new head coach, JJ Redick, will have to balance developing young players and focusing on winning to maintain his role.

LeBron James may retire with the knowledge that he has achieved everything in what might be the greatest NBA career ever if he and his partner can have fleeting but important moments and make lifelong memories. He got a peek this week, but he has the entire season to come to terms with that sad truth.

The shocking reason why LeBron won’t play 1-on-1 basketball is revealed by Austin Reaves

Austin Reaves, a teammate of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, claims that the 39-year-old avoids one-on-one play because he doesn’t think it’s “real basketball.”

When asked if he had ever played James in a one-on-one, Reaves responded, “Nah— he don’t play one-on-one.” “I kind of agree with his statement that one-on-one basketball isn’t real basketball.”

James, like most others who have ever played the sport, is probably aware that basketball is ultimately a team sport.

It’s obvious that James can score the ball with the best of them. Compared to other players in the league’s history, he has the most NBA points earned during the regular season.

James has four titles to his credit, but he couldn’t have won them by himself because it takes a great team to win a championship.

Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade were crucial players in James’ first two NBA championships, which he won in the years 2012 and 2013. The former relieved a lot of the burden on James to score, while the latter continuously stretched the floor and grabbed rebounds for the Heat.

In addition, Kyrie Irving, one of the best offensive players in NBA history, was a member of James’ squad when he won his third NBA championship in 2016. Against the Golden State Warriors in that year’s championship series, Irving averaged 27.1 points on 46.8 percent shooting from the field, 40.5 percent from 3-point range, and 93.9 percent from the charity line.

A few years later, in 2020, the 39-year-old won his fourth championship. It’s fair to say that he wasn’t even his team’s greatest player throughout the Lakers’ championship run.

Star center Anthony Davis led the Lakers in points (27.7) and blocks (1.4) per game during the 2020 NBA Playoffs.

In the 2024–25 season, Reaves might potentially help James pursue his fifth championship if he can build on his impressive third season in the pros. With 82 games played (57 starts), he averaged a career-high 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game in the 2023–24 regular season.
