According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Chris Wormley, a veteran defensive tackle, has been signed by the Baltimore Ravens to the practice squad.

Fans of the Baltimore team may recognize the name Wormley. He was selected by the Ravens in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Michigan, and he played his first three seasons in Baltimore. He played in 39 games over that period, totaling 54 tackles, four stops for loss, nine quarterback hits, and 2.5 sacks.

Wormley was only ever traded twice, in 2020, by the Ravens to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a late-round choice. This was the only trade between the fierce rivals. In 41 games, the 30-year-old recorded 88 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits, and 8.5 sacks, demonstrating his growth as a quality player in Pittsburgh. His career-high seven sacks in 2021 marked his best season; however, an ACL tear in 2022 forced him to miss time.

After that, Wormley played briefly in five games for the Carolina Panthers during the previous season. He has been free agent for a number of months.

Baltimore Ravens Sign Former Draft Pick To Practice Squad

Wormley gets an opportunity to restart his career by joining the team who drafted him again. While on the practice squad, he will have ample opportunity to regain his game form. Should he demonstrate glimmer of his previous form, he may eventually make his way back to the active roster.
