The Colorado head coach made a grave accusation against the opposing players on September 14 following his team’s 28-9 victory. Throughout the week, Sanders saw the disparaging remarks made by others, such as Colorado State’s Tyrone Horton, who declared that his team “should have murdered them guys” in the previous season and that they were “coming for revenge” on Saturday.

Deion Sanders asserted that one of the Colorado State players had a physical altercation with a Colorado coach before the game, which he used to defend the decision to start starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders on the game’s last drive.

“The disrespect was uncalled for throughout the week,” Sanders stated. “A number of their players made disparaging remarks against our players as well as the entire program. It is what it is, then. We were aware going into the game that it would be somewhat intimate, and that was the case. During warm-ups, one of our coaches, coach Phillips, was elbowed and ran into by a player, which is not appropriate. All I can hope for is that our children never behave that way. Since I’m sure you guys would be having a blast if they did.”

The Colorado State player accused in Deion Sanders’ claim may face discipline if it is shown that the contact was deliberate.

Fans lash out at Colorado Football QB Shedeur Sanders after he verbally confronted his CSU counterpart during Week 3.

The Colorado football team defeated the Colorado State Rams 28-9 on Saturday, and they will go into the Big 12 opening the following weekend 2-1. Known as the Rocky Mountain Showdown, the interstate game has gained popularity as one of college football’s most talked-about rivals after NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders was appointed head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes prior to the 2022 campaign. This year’s highly anticipated tilt was the result of a lot of trash talk from both teams following last year’s exciting 43-35 double-overtime victory.

But Colorado crushed their Mountain West rival, much to the delight of Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback, and the Buffs supporters. Sanders, a consistent first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, made no secret of his contempt for his opponent, CSU signal-caller Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, after the latter publicly criticized Colorado football in a pregame interview. Still, Sanders’ attitude was not well received by college football fans, particularly considering that he is still a top-tier FBS gunslinger.
QB Shedeur Sanders of Colorado Football enrages fans with postgame antics

After defeating the opposition team’s quarterback last night, Shedeur Sanders REFUSED to shake hands with him, according NFL Rookie Watch. The opposition quarterback was then allegedly told by Sanders that he “cannot” f*ck with him.

Colorado State Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi discussed last year’s game, which resulted in a thrilling double-overtime thriller, in a pregame interview. “They thought it would be easy and came out with that mindset,” Fowler said. “They got a rude awakening real quick,” he said, referring to the stories of the 27.5 points (Vegas spread) or whatever it was. Additionally, I believe it proves that the media frenzy and other hoopla only go so far.

Fans Don't Blame Shedeur Sanders For His Controversial Postgame Behavior - Athlon Sports

Colorado football quarterback In response to Fowler-Nicolosi’s comments, Shedeur Sanders played a very effective football game. He completed the game with 310 yards and four touchdowns on 36 of 49 attempts. There was no interception thrown by him. During the postgame, Sanders spoke with Fowler Nicolosi, but most significantly, he declined to shake his hand. Despite Fowler-Nicolosi’s pregame remarks, college football fans disapproved of his behavior and criticized Shedeur Sanders on social media:

It’s so old that opposing players criticize their rivals in the media.

Is there anyone here who knows Ali? Before fights, the guy would talk so much garbage. He was kind, nonetheless, despite his humility.

Sanders, though, is taking a cue from his grieving parents.
