Update for the second half: In the third quarter, Trevor Etienne rejoined the game.

Somehow, Georgia’s night in Lexington has turned into a hassle. Trevor Etienne, the running back for the Bulldogs, appeared to be hurt. We don’t now know the entire degree of the injury.

With his shoulder bothering him, the Georgia running back returned to the locker room during the first half. After nine carries for 26 yards, Etienne returned to the locker room, ending the game as Georgia’s top rusher at the time. According to D.J. Shockley, a sideline reporter for Georgia radio, Etienne hurt his left shoulder during the Kentucky game and was “out for now”.

Kirby Smart was questioned about it during the intermission.

“It’s possible that he could return,” Smart stated.

When Georgia and Kentucky were deadlocked at the half, Etienne departed the game. Georgia ended the first half behind, 6-3. The Bulldogs will probably look to Nate Frazier and Branson Robinson, who hadn’t played a snap until Etienne was down. When Etienne was out, Georgia had ran the ball twice for seven yards outside of him.

After failing to take a snap in the Week 1 opener, Etienne made a comeback to the starting lineup last week. In that victory, he ran eight times for 72 yards, setting himself up for another team-high performance.

His head coach had taken note of his early performances and wasn’t overanalyzing the Tennessee Tech game.

We may not yet be aware of that. Quite difficult to say now. “After Week 1, I wouldn’t judge that based on today,” Smart remarked. We have a rather strong stable of backs, in my opinion. The thought of our backs enrages me. We have a fantastic group, as I have stated to you all numerous times. Good depth, good leadership, good young, and good old. I spent the entire year feeling really at ease there. Although I can’t really attribute much of an impact on what he did today, I still feel that way. I have no idea how much respect is there.
