In Week 2 of the NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders will travel to Baltimore to play the Ravens at 1 pm EST.

The Ravens are coming off a difficult season opening in which they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning champs. Late in the fourth quarter, they had many chances to score, but ultimately failed. As they head back home for Week 2, they’ll now be aiming for their first victory of the year.

The Raiders are coming off a difficult defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers, their division foe, in which they were unable to muster any offensive production. They’ll be trying to get quarterback Gardner Minshew to play better when they travel for Week 2.

Despite sustaining an orbital bone fracture, Kyle Van Noy will play.

Ten days after sustaining an orbital bone fracture, Ravens outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy will play against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

On Friday, Van Noy made a limited comeback to practice and expressed optimism that his eye would heal enough to allow him to suit up.

For a defense hoping to pressure Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II—who was sacked four times by the Chargers in Week One—that is encouraging news.

Six rookies, including first-round choice Nate Wiggins, who was hurt in an automobile accident this week and was declared out on Friday, are among the Ravens’ seven inactive players.

After missing the majority of the summer, the preseason, and Week 1 due to two different hamstring ailments, Isaac was eager to make his M&T Bank Stadium debut. When Isaac returned to practice, he was limited for the whole week. There’s no need for the Ravens to rush him back.

The experienced defensive end Brent Urban replaced Wiggins in Week 2 due to the cornerback’s injury. That is the only difference between the two games.

Jackson Powers-Johnson, a rookie backup guard who was dubious going into the game, would not play for the Raiders. On Friday, they declared 2023 first-round pass rusher Tyree Wilson ineligible.

Kyle Van Noy Will Play After Suffering Eye Injury

This is the Chiefs’ version of events about Ravens LB’s eye injury. Van Noy, Kyle

When he injured his eye during last week’s NFL season opener at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy harshly criticized the team’s medical personnel for not attending to him right away. The Chiefs had stayed mute during this. Right up till Friday.

Trainer Rick Burkholder addressed Van Noy’s displeasure directly and forcefully on Friday from a platform situated inside the media area at the Chiefs’ Kansas City practice facility. Burkholder declared, “We respect the Ravens and their medical staff.” “As a player, I respect Kyle, and I’m pretty upset that he was upset.” To set the record straight, I’ve spoken with their physicians in-depth and texted John Harbaugh, the coach of the Ravens, to get everything straight.

Van Noy, 33, said on his podcast, “McCoy and Van Noy,” on Wednesday that the Chiefs’ training staff had treated him in a “unprofessional manner” when he was being treated for an injury he had during KC’s 27-20 victory on September 5.

Van Noy stated on the show, “I was disappointed in the way the Chiefs’ training staff handled the situation.” “You should rely on the medical professionals or training staff of your home team when you are harmed, especially if it’s something catastrophic like what happened to me. It is unacceptable to me that they took a whole quarter to come talk to me in the locker room. Because at that point, you begin to wonder, “What if I was attempting to rejoin the game?” What would happen if I was severely injured?

Burkholder addressed the 11-year NFL veteran’s issues head-on on Friday, without holding back. “Having a dentist or ophthalmologist in the stands is not required by the NFL,” Burkholder stated. We do that out of consideration for both teams. Neither the NFL nor the NFLPA need it.

I went outside after he fell because I believed he may have suffered a head or neck injury. I inquired with their doctor if an ophthalmologist was required. At the time, they didn’t. After evaluating him, they requested the services of an ophthalmologist, so we called the stands and within 12 minutes, the ophthalmologist was in the locker room.

“I apologize if he was offended. I believe that Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs, and I have worked things out with the Ravens, and both teams appreciate the process. Following his remarks, Burkholder declined to answer any questions from reporters. NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell backed Van Noy on Thursday, stating that on-site medical care ought to be given “as quickly as possible” and that “I think this was a situation where that did not occur.”

Later on Thursday, the NFL chastised the NFLPA in return. “NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said in a statement, “It’s disappointing the NFLPA would publicize unsupported conclusions without attempting to understand the facts.” “We are confident he received the right care after reviewing the case with the medical staffs of the Chiefs and Ravens.”
