The Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a frightening experience as he sustained another concussion during their 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. While Tagovailoa and the Dolphins will assess their options moving forward, Bills safety Damar Hamlin talked about the near-fatal injury.

Given that Hamlin experienced a near-death incident in January of 2023, there is no doubt that he is aware of what it’s like to have one’s life called into question following a football play. He described the play, in which he collided with Tagovailoa, as a “routine tackle,” according to The Athletic. On fourth down, the quarterback dove head-first into the tackle in an attempt to gain the first and advance the chains.

On fourth down, Hamlin stated, “I was just trying to make a routine tackle, trying to get them off the field.”

More about Tagovailoa’s condition was covered by Hamlin, which is quite alarming because he has already experienced nearly a handful of concussions, raising the possibility of a medical retirement more than before. The Bills player went on to discuss the “trauma” that follows an incident of this nature as well as the measures he took to move past it and return to the football field.

“Traumatic events occur. It’s not going away,” Hamlin declared on Thursday. It doesn’t effect me because of the job I’ve accomplished. I received trauma therapy. I speak with a psychologist. It has enabled me to advance both mentally and procedurally. I know that I’m now completely fine and totally able to go back and play because I completed the difficult tasks of putting on the pads, tackling, and getting ready for the game last year.

Damar Hamlin of the Bills muses on his experiences following the Tua Tagovailoa scare

Undoubtedly, Hamlin has returned to full strength as seen by his numerous snaps during Thursday night’s victory over the Dolphins, during which he registered 10 total tackles.

“It’s football,” stated Hamlin. “Last year, I underwent a difficult process to gain mental clarity and confidence that the field is among the safest places to be given my circumstances. Because there are so many experts who practice handling these kinds of circumstances, I was able to return. My mind is thus liberated. I have a clear head. I’m merely attempting to play football outside.

The same conversations about retirement from football that Tagovailoa is presently having, Hamlin has also dealt with. Despite the fact that each circumstance is unique, Hamlin discussed his ability to “tune all that out.”

“You have to block out everything else,” Hamlin stated. “In the end, only the individuals who support you will be lining up on the field with you. When the cameras are off, only your family is present in the room. These viewpoints are the ones that count.

In addition to narrating the events leading up to and following his cardiac attack, Hamlin would wish Tagovailoa well on the field and on social media on X, formerly known as Twitter, while he recovered.

About Tagovailoa, Hamlin remarked, “Prayers to him.” “Since he is a dog, I hope he recovers quickly. He is a combatant. He most certainly will return shortly.

“Prayers and love with @Tua fasho.. I’m sending you well wishes and courage for a quick recovery. Huge love, broski 🙏🏾,” Hamlin posted on X.

In Week 3, the Bills take on the Jacksonville Jaguars with the goal of going 3-0.

Josh Allen Made Fun of a Disrespectful Dolphins Defender.

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins in an unexpectedly simple contest on Thursday Night Football. While James Cook and the Bills defense did more than enough to help the team advance to 2-0 on the season, Tua Tagovailoa battled and eventually suffered a concussion.

Josh Allen started to pick some steam in the second quarter, hitting the Dolphins defense with a pair of pump fakes when the score was still close. Jordyn Brooks hesitated for a split second after one of them sent Jalen Ramsey flying, and Allen chose to slide to prevent a physical altercation.

Linebacker David Long Jr. had some words to say to Allen as he stood up and made his way back to the huddle. Kirk Herbstreit brought up the discussion, speculating that Long might be warning Allen about such pump fakes.

To try and figure out who Long was talking to, Allen made it a point to glance at the name on the back of his jersey, but he didn’t appear too concerned.

Since that Long recorded 10 tackles in both of the Dolphins’ games against the Bills during the previous season, this was presumably some clever game-manship on Allen’s part. It is similar to the moment Conor McGregor famously asked Jeremy Stephens, “Who da f— is that guy?” during a press conference.

The fact that Stephens had been a member of the UFC since before McGregor began competing professionally was irrelevant. He had a point to make. The Buffalo Bills made a lot of those last night.
